Alpinestars - Tech 10 LE Steeler Boots

The Tech 10 has set the standard for Motocross boot performance and protection for well over a decade now, with an ongoing focus on product development and innovation that continues to raise the performance envelope higher and higher. Here at Alpinestars, we believe in perfection through innovation; while maintaining the iconic Tech 10 look, the latest iteration of the boot works tirelessly to offer a rider the ultimate in feel, comfort, and overall safety, lifting the ceiling of what a premium motocross boot should be higher than ever before. The Tech 10’s ongoing development has been guided by three key priorities, as the Alpinestars technical footwear team looked to improve overall functionality, performance, and safety, decrease weight, and reduce material volume on the boot. Maximizing these priorities is the key achievement of the latest Tech 10 and the result is a far greater range of movement and flexibility, while offering better control over the flexion and torsion forces that significantly improve boot performance, giving the rider greater confidence and protection.

Alpinestars Tech 10 LE Steeler Boots are Alpinestars riding boots for riding days where support, control, and bike feel matter. The Alpinestars Tech 10 LE Steeler Boots are built for riders who want real riding footwear, not casual shoes with a moto logo.

Why We Like It

The Alpinestars Tech 10 LE Steeler Boots stands out because the boot choice affects shifting, braking, standing, and comfort through the whole ride.

Why It Works For You

The Alpinestars Tech 10 LE Steeler Boots help complete the Alpinestars setup with the support and structure riders expect from dedicated moto footwear.

Key Features

  • Material composites have been created that are lighter in weight and more durable to ensure they hold up to the rigors of off-road riding. The new, cold-forged, aluminum buckles are not only easier to operate, more durable, and provide a self-aligning closure that offers a positive hold across the upper surfaces of the boot, this evolution has resulted in an impressive reduction in weight of over 400 grams (almost 1lb) for the MX25 Tech 10 Boots.
  • The new streamlined boot design also reduces the Tech 10’s profile and physical size. By incorporating the newer, lighter, and more durable composite materials and using a more integrated approach to the construction of the components, we’ve been able to dynamically enhance the chassis of the boot as well as use more advanced bonding processes.
  • The Tech 10 chassis combines advanced lightweight microfiber and with an impact and abrasion resistant TPU shell.
  • Engineered frontal flexion control is offered by a dual-density TPU connector system, uniting the lower buckle plate with the upper blade connector, buckle and shin protector. Engineered to ‘float’ freely between the lower and upper boot construction, the Frontal Flex Frame acts as a shock absorber by distributing energy across the boot frame while controlling forward and rearward flex, progressively releasing force which dampens and absorbs impact energies.
  • Asymmetrical, dual pivot arms on boot frame.
  • A unique feature of the Tech 10 is the ankle control system developed in the outer shell construction, allowing natural ankle movement, vertical compression control and improved impact protection.
  • Asymmetrical medial and lateral double pivot system for improved levels of flexibility and precision for both independent and synchronized movement. The medial pivot arm’s higher placement reduces material volume in the lower part of the boot, creating more space for the patented inner ankle brace system to have free movement and improve control. Reducing the volume on the inner side also reduces abrasion, where the boot is in contact with the bike and improves grip and feel.
  • Low-profile, pull-on design for reduced material build, less weight and to facilitate easier and quicker wearing.
  • Innovative flexion inserts work seamlessly with the Tech 10’s flex support system for ultimate in performance.
  • TPU protection and shock absorbing padding on the heel and ankles and an ultra-thin and flexible forefoot area for increased sensitivity and control.
  • Dual compound removable anatomic footbed includes EVA for comfort and support and aids even weight distribution.
  • Sole with proprietary grip sculpturing delivers superior foot-peg performance, grip and mud and water run-off.
  • The central sole insert features micro grip and side hooking grip design. It is easily replaceable and Alpinestars offers a full sole replacement and boot repair service.
  • Triple buckle closure system features a nylon and fiberglass compound for improved durability and strength, and the slim-line buckles include high-impact bridge closures which are cold forged for precision and strength.

Seeing the Creative Process for Graphic Novels
Format: Paperback
This is a fascinating look at the early creative processes writers do when they make scripts for graphic novels. The only down side to this book is it doesn't show any comparison between the scripts and the final product. I suppose that's part of the fun of this book is that you have to imagine the graphics just like the original artists did.

Great Comic
Format: Kindle
Wolverine is one of my favorite Marvel characters. He encapsulates the paradox for young adolescent boys. He’s everything we wish to be, and at the same time, everything we would be terrified to be.

A huge book that gives you the hero's beginnings.
Format: Hardcover
I own several Marvel Omnibus collections (Captain America, Miller's Daredevil run, etc) but I have to say I think this one is the biggest in terms of thickness. This has a serious page count, and is definitely worth the money you spend on it for size alone. Those coming off the Wolverine movie and interested in more of his back-story will enjoy most of this. The stories here are not put together in chronological order of publication, but rather in chronological order of when it supposedly happened in his life. That being said, it's odd that Marvel chose to leave out "Origin", since that six-part story would have made an obvious choice for the beginning of this collection. Instead, we start out with a number of "Weapon X" stories that are supposed to set the stage for his creation into a weapon. The stories are not easy to follow for a casual read, however. You'll have to invest time reading dozens of dialogue balloons over the constantly-resting pose of Logan with wires coming out of him. Not the best start they could have hoped for, but I can see the logic of it. The Wolverine/Kitty Pryde miniseries is also here for some reason. I guess its inclusion into the collection is for completist purposes, but it's not that great. Eventually, you reach the Frank Miller Wolverine mini-series that started it all and paved the way for his solo series later on. If you've read that one, you know it's a classic as we get more back story into his Samurai/Ninja training past (and it's also rumored to be the basis for the second Wolverine solo film if it gets made). This leads into the first 10 issues of his solo series as we meet Logan's "Patch" identity, his weird black "facepaint mask" costume, and the dark dealings of Madripor. The colors here are rich and vibrant. Those who were disappointed with the washed-out look of the "Essentials" collection of Wolverine stuff will find nothing but happiness here. The price is reasonable for what you're getting here. Let me say again though that this is a MONSTER of a book, so you won't be carrying this around for a casual read at the coffee shop. This is more along the lines of a serious collector book than those Essential volumes.
