Illicium parviflorum ~ Monrovia® Ocala Anise, Yellow AniseMonrovia Yellow Anise is a large dense upright native evergreen shrub with aromatic foliage that emerges soft yellow green and matures to olive green. The late spring flowers yellow green are insignificant but are followed by the non edible star shaped seed capsules that have a licorice scent DO NOT INGEST! The plant is not a substitute for the culinary spice and flavorings obtained from Illicium verum. Grows best in rich, moist well drained soils.
