Easy Food Processing

The all New Vita-Prep® commercial blender from Vitamix is a reliable power tool for gourmet and professional kitchens. This model includes the 64 oz Container, which you'll find indispensable. It is designed to simplify every task with either high or variable-speed blending. Just remember to start the Vita-Prep on a lower speed for heavier foods and then crank it up to high speed to finish your products to perfection. The Vita-Prep also includes a 54-page recipe manual that explains methods, variations, and suggestions for a myriad of menu items. You'll learn how to quickly prepare purees or chopped vegetables that cost less to make than fabricated products. Most importantly, the Vita-Prep is easy to clean. The container rinses easily, and the base needs little more than a quick wipe with a wet cloth at the end of the day. The Vitamix Vita-Prep is also available in the more powerful 3 HP model, the Vita-Prep 3.

Superior Construction

The Vitamix Vita-Prep is powered by a 2.3 HP motor that outlasts other brands 3 to 1 and provides all the muscle you need for frequent operation. Surrounding the motor is a sturdy ABS plastic body that withstands abuse and is easy to clean. A metal-on-metal drive system connects the motor to the blending container for better durability as opposed to plastic. The Vita-Prep comes with either a 64 ounce high-impact, clear container, complete with blade assembly and lid, tamper, and black base, that is NSF-Certified. NSF certification is very important for restaurants that wish to promote food safety. The 2-piece heavy rubber lid locks into place and has a cap on top which allows you to add ingredients while the Vita-Prep is running.

Juicing

When you juice whole foods in the Vitamix Vita-Prep, the cell walls of whole fruits and vegetables are pulverized. You get the delicious juice and all of the nutritious whole food fiber. Unlike a juice extractor that discards the pulp, the Vita-Prep starts with the whole fruit or vegetable and delivers all the health benefits of both the juice and the fiber. The Vita-Prep has the motor power, speed, container and blade design to make it happen smoothly by pulverizing the whole food fiber and breaking it into microscopic pieces that are easy to digest. You get a creamy, smooth juice full of fiber with no fiber "feel"!

Hot Soups

Cooking soups in the Vita-Prep starts with fresh, whole produce and in 4 to 6 minutes you'll get a steaming hot soup complete with all the nutrients. The Vita-Prep blades turn so fast they generate enough friction to bring soup up to serving temperature. Simply toss in the ingredients identified in the recipe, secure the lid, flip the switch, and you'll experience a delicious, whole vegetable soup with no peeling or seeding required! To make a chunky soup, cooked meat or seafood may be added on low speed during the last few seconds. The Vitamix Vita-Prep does not stop at soups! You will be making lump-free sauces, gravies and puddings almost effortlessly. Fresh or canned fruits can be turned into delicious fruit syrups to use on ice cream, pancakes or waffles.

Wet Chopping

The Vitamix Vita-Prep is designed for grinding foods that contain moisture such as nuts and meat. The precision-crafted stainless steel blades draw the mixture down and into the blender for proper processing and do all the work for you. Water draws the item into the blades resulting in a uniform chop. The type of chop, whether coarse or fine, is determined by the speed selected on the Variable Dial. With wet chopping, you can easily prepare vegetables for soups, salads, stir-frying, side dishes and coleslaw. Wet chopping is also the recommended preparation for all raw vegetables where a uniform chop is required (e.g., salsa). However, when wet chopping ingredients for salsa, the moisture released by the vegetables is sufficient for the vegetables to circulate into the blades.

Dry Chopping

Dry chopping is used for such things as carrots, olives, nuts, coconut, onions, eggs and cheese. With the Vita-Prep, these tasks are quick, easy and require little cleanup. For best results, chop only one cup at a time. You decide how coarse or fine you want the finished product by adjusting the Variable Speed Dial. The faster the speed, the finer the chop. Remember, the precision-crafted stainless steel blades do all the work, so you don't have to. You can even combine some items used in the same recipe to save more time. Vitamix strongly recommends using the >Dry Blade Assembly if dry chopping or dry grinding is the primary purpose for your Vitamix Vita-Prep. You can either change it out with the included Wet Blade, or you can purchase an additional blending container with its own dry blade for the ultimate convenience.

Dry Grinding

The Vitamix Vita-Prep is designed for grinding whole grains, beans, rice and coffee. Freshly-ground flours take only 1 minute in your new Vita-Prep. Take whole wheat berries, such as hard red, soft winter white or Golden 86 and turn them into wonderful fresh breads, rolls and hot cereals. Even beans, rice, and tapioca are easily ground into flours for use in gluten-free recipes. Grinding your own grains will give you all the nutritional benefits of fiber-rich, preservative-free homemade bread.

Smoothies

One of the most amazing desserts you'll make in your Vitamix Vita-Prep is a delicious frozen treat. And what's even more amazing is that you'll make it in under a minute! Frozen desserts start with a frozen fruit ingredient. The secret is the high performance precision-crafted stainless steel blades that crush and cut up frozen ingredients in seconds. The blade action produces a larger frozen surface area that releases coldness. The Vita-Prep works so fast that it all happens in about 30 seconds. And there's no time for the mixture to melt. With the help of the accelerator tool, the mixture actually refreezes itself instantly and creates a smooth and scrumptious soft-serve frozen treat.

Kneads

Start with grains from your freezer and turn them into fresh baked bread from the oven. Yes the Vita-Prep even kneads dough so you won't ever have to touch it. Making bread from start to finish is so quick and easy, you can make healthy, preservative-free bread fresh daily. Bread made the Vita-Prep way is superior to commercially produced white bread in many different ways"more dietary fiber, more vitamins, and fabulous, fresh, home-baked taste!

Body wash
A clean, elevated body wash set that gives you two standout scents—Italian Bergamot (fresh, citrusy, clean) and Palo Santo (warm, smoky, masculine). The formula creates a rich lather that cleans without drying your skin, and the layered fragrance makes it feel more high-end than typical body washes. ✔ Two premium scents (fresh + warm options) ✔ Rich lather, non-drying formula ✔ Long-lasting, layered fragrance ❗ Scent is more subtle than cologne ❗ Slightly pricier than basic body wash 👉 Bottom line: A great everyday upgrade perfect if you want a clean, fresh scent or a deeper, more masculine vibe depending on your mood.

"Do this like like this person did
Format: Paperback
I bought this last year at Bethlehem Seminary bookstore in Minneapolis on a bibliophile impulse. It was so remarkable, that I bought multiple copies here on Amazon to give to leaders and fellow-teachers of our children's outreach program at church. For instead of the typical way of teaching bible stories to children, it proposes a different way, one wrapped around the gospel of grace. Most of the time, children are taught the stories of David and Goliath, or Gideon, or whatever, to urge them on to moral behavior. "Do this like like this person did, don't do that like that other person did, and God will bless you". And so kids grow up in the church thinking that this is what the gospel is: do good and you'll gain God's favor. This book instead shows how God has always provided a solution for the wretched consequences of the fall. The writer doesn't recommend we automatically shy away from teaching the difficult stories of the bible, which is so common in children's ministries (like the captivity in Babylon, and the wretched stories in Judges, for instance). Instead, it shows teachers how to teach (AND see for themselves) the mercy of God in each of those bible accounts. It is not a curriculum, though it is very bible literate: for instance, Mr. Klumpenhower points out the not-always-so-obvious parts of a story that point to a coming redeemer. It has practical insights for showing the beauty of God's love and mercy in EVERY bible story, and for those who need further direction and insight, Mr. Klumpenower's website gives curricular-type lesson plans you can use when teaching those stories. In our church now, we continue to use a national bible-memory program that many churches use. But we use this as the outline for our group teaching times. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking to teach the gospel from the scriptures, instead of just from a formula.

Life-Changing; full of truth of how the grace in the Gospel (not mere morality preaching) transforms us
Format: Paperback
This is a life-changing book that put into words so many things that have nagged at the back of my mind about the way we teach the Bible to children. It seems far too many picture Bibles, Sunday school curricula, and parenting books boil the Bible down to "This Bible character did this. You should do/not do this." You could completely remove God and Christ from some of these books/methods and the application would not change: be good. Likewise, as a parent it's too easy to simply use Bible stories as a way to try to manipulate our kids' behavior. To begin with, trying to "be good" without understanding our new life in Christ and the Holy Spirit's enablement is completely futile. This focus on morality apart from the Gospel also helps explain why many church kids grow up and leave the church. If all church gave them was a list of how to behave, but they never truly fell in love with Jesus and understand all he did for them, why stay in church? Klumpenhower maintains that "The cross of Jesus—not principles of good living—is the engine of the Christian life." The gist of this book is that more than anything, kids need to be shown God's character, Jesus' work, and the Holy Spirit's enabling. This, more than any moral lesson, will be what transforms them. "We make a mistake if we think kids are saved by hearing the good news and trusting Jesus, but then grow as Christians some other way." While the Bible does give useful examples, if kids "get Samuel the good listener without first appreciating God the Great Speaker, they're liable to end up relating to God only in an anxious, what-I-must-do way." Klumpenhower gives practical advice for how to teach the Word in a way that points to Jesus and not our own efforts. For example, when teaching Old Testament stories he recommends asking: "1) What is God doing for his people in this story? 2) Good News! How does God do the same for us—only better—in Jesus? 3) Believe it! How does believing this good news change how we live?" Here is an example from teaching about Moses: "What is God doing for his people in this story? He arranges events to protect baby Moses and give the Israelites a leader who will rescue them from Egypt. Good News! How does God do the same for us—only better—in Jesus? He has provided a Leader and Savior who rescues us from sin and death. Believe it! How does believing this good news change how we live? Even when it's hard to see, we can trust that God is working out his plan to complete our salvation." Another great example is how he recommends addressing sin: the surface sin we can see (example: dancing to lewd music), the selfish fear underneath (ex: afraid friends won't like or accept me), and the root unbelief (ex: not believing Jesus gives me God's approval). I'm just scratching the surface of this book. Chapter after chapter is filled with wonderful truth about how the grace given in the Gospel impacts every area of our lives and about how our identity in Christ is what transforms us. I recommend it to anyone who wants to use the Bible as their foundation for living, teaching, and parenting. It's that good. Go read it! If you're intrigued but not sure you can read the whole thing, download the free Kindle sample and at least read the introduction and first chapter; it will give you a good overview. And then you'll probably want to read the rest!

An Absolute Gem that shines with Jesus
Format: Paperback, Format: Paperback
This book is so good! It is full of biblical truth that is missing in much of Christianity. The author reminds us that Jesus is the whole point of the Bible. Go. After. Christ. Everything else will follow. Moralism does not save us. The love of Jesus does. Just beautiful. I wish the author had been my Sunday school teacher. All my life I've known the truth of Jesus. It's right there in the Bible, woven into every story. And yet I've still always felt like love was to be earned and moralism was at the front of my faith. This book makes me see how the cross is what I need. Jesus loves me. He is for me. Morals don't earn me points with God. The blood of Jesus paid all. And my desire to obey and be like him flows out of my love for him... and his abundant love for me. ❤️
