The title track skyrocketed to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1967 with the album reaching #11 on the Billboard 200. Along with “Incense And Peppermints,” two other tracks from the album (“The World’s On Fire” and “Rainy Day Mushroom Pillow”) were featured in the 1968 counterculture-era movie, Psych-Out, starring Jack Nicholson. “Incense And Peppermints,” would also later appear in the 1997 comedy, Austin Powers: International Man Of Mystery.
