The Electric Cargo Bike That Changes How Canadian Families Move

Some products quietly improve your day. The 2026 Riese & Müller Load5 75 rewrites it entirely. This is a fifth-generation electric cargo bike built in Mühltal, Germany, refined over years of real-world use by families, commuters, and urban adventurers who decided a car was no longer the answer. It carries up to three children, a week of groceries, camping gear, or whatever your day demands, and it does it with a level of ride quality, safety technology, and mechanical refinement that simply has no equal in this category.

For Canadian riders specifically, this bike makes sense in a way few others do. Whether you're navigating Ottawa's spring potholes, climbing the hills of Vancouver's East Side, hauling kids through a Toronto neighbourhood, or commuting through a Calgary winter, the Load5 75 was built to absorb all of it without complaint. Available through Scooteretti, a certified Riese & Müller authorized dealer based in Ottawa, with free shipping to every province.

German Engineering That Earns Its Price Every Single Ride

Riese & Müller has been building premium electric bikes since 1993. What separates them from the broader market is not just the quality of individual components, though those are exceptional, it is the integration. Every system on the Load5 75 was designed to work together, and the result is a bike that feels purposeful and planted whether you are fully loaded or riding solo.

The 2026 model represents the fifth generation of the Load platform, and the improvements are not cosmetic. A new standard dropper seatpost means you can lower your saddle at a stop when carrying heavy cargo, planting both feet firmly and steadying the bike before you move off again. A larger optional DualBattery now reaches 1,600 Wh. The cargo canopy has been updated with tinted TPU film panels that protect passengers from UV radiation and reduce sun glare. These are the kinds of thoughtful, practical upgrades that come from a manufacturer that actually listens to the people riding its bikes.

Full Suspension Across the Entire Bike, Including the Cargo Platform

Most cargo bikes offer front suspension at best. The Load5 75 goes further than any competitor with Riese & Müller's proprietary Control Technology, a three-axis suspension system that covers the front fork, the rear swing arm, and critically, the cargo platform itself. That last element is what makes this bike genuinely different. When the wheels absorb a pothole or a rail crossing, the cargo box moves with the suspension rather than lurching independently. Your children, your groceries, and your equipment stay settled and secure.

Front Suspension Fork

The SR Suntour Mobie 34 CGO Boost fork provides 80 mm of travel on the front 20-inch wheel, absorbing road imperfections before they reach the rider's hands and arms. For Canadian road conditions, this is not a luxury feature, it is a daily necessity.

Rear Suspension Swing Arm

An X-Fusion Glyde rear shock handles the back end, keeping the rear wheel tracking properly over rough terrain and adding a layer of comfort that makes longer rides significantly less fatiguing, particularly when carrying a full load.

Co-Sprung Cargo Platform

This is the element that sets the Load5 75 apart. The luggage carrier is mounted to move in sync with the rear suspension, preventing the independent rocking motion that plagues other cargo bike designs. Passengers ride more comfortably, and cargo arrives undisturbed.

Standard Dropper Seatpost for 2026

New for the 2026 model year, the dropper seatpost is now standard equipment. Ride at full leg extension on the open road for maximum power and efficiency. Drop the saddle at intersections or when stopping with a heavy load, and regain full stability with both feet flat on the ground. It is a feature that sounds simple but transforms the experience of daily riding with this bike.

Bosch Cargo Line Power, Engineered for What You Are Actually Carrying

The Load5 75 is powered by the Bosch Cargo Line Smart System motor, which delivers up to 120 Nm of torque and up to 600 percent pedal assistance in Cargo mode. This motor was designed specifically for heavy-load applications. It starts smoothly even when the bike is fully loaded, avoiding the lurching feeling common on general-purpose motors pressed into cargo duty. Whether you are pulling away from a school drop-off on a hill or settling into a long flat commute, the power delivery feels natural and proportional.

Up to 1,600 Wh with Optional DualBattery

The standard configuration ships with a Bosch PowerPack Frame 800 Wh battery, which provides strong range for most daily use. For Canadian riders who need more, whether because of longer commutes, colder temperatures that reduce battery efficiency, or simply a preference for never worrying about range, the optional DualBattery upgrade brings total capacity to 1,600 Wh. That is enough for days of riding between charges and genuinely transforms the bike into a car replacement for all but the longest journeys.

Bosch Smart System and the eBike Flow App

The Load5 75 runs on Bosch's fully connected Smart System platform. The eBike Flow app connects via Bluetooth and lets you customize ride modes, monitor battery health, track fitness data, and receive over-the-air software updates. Your bike gets better after you buy it, which is not something you can say about most vehicles.

Safety That Was Designed In, Not Added As an Afterthought

When your cargo includes children, safety becomes the first question, not an afterthought. The Load5 75 addresses this with two advanced braking options. The first is Bosch eBike ABS, which uses wheel speed sensors to prevent front wheel lockup under hard braking, reducing the risk of a forward tip even on gravel or wet pavement. The second is the Integrated Braking System, which automatically distributes braking force across both wheels when the rear lever is applied. Stopping distances are reduced by up to 40 percent, and the bike remains stable and steerable throughout the stop. Both systems are calibrated for a loaded cargo bike, not a lightweight commuter, which is a meaningful distinction.

Lighting runs off the main battery through integrated Supernova front and rear units. The headlight operates with both main beam and dipped beam modes, and the rear light activates as a brake light when stopping. In the shorter winter days that define much of Canada, being seen clearly is not optional.

A 75 cm Cargo Bed That Genuinely Replaces a Car

The defining characteristic of the Load5 75, and the reason to choose it over the Load5 60, is the 75 cm front cargo bed. That extra 15 cm creates room for a third child seat, turning this into a bike that works for larger families in a way no other cargo bike can match. Three children up to age seven can ride comfortably in the front box with appropriate safety restraints. One adult passenger can also ride in the cargo box for shorter trips. Beyond the family configuration, the cargo box handles a full week of groceries, sports equipment, camping gear, or business deliveries with ease. The rear carrier adds further capacity for panniers and backpacks. Total payload capacity exceeds 100 kg.

A Modular Accessory Ecosystem

Riese & Müller has developed a comprehensive range of accessories that let you configure the Load5 75 for any scenario. Child seats are available in single, double, and triple configurations, each with five-point safety harnesses. The updated 2026 weather canopy features tinted TPU film panels that filter UV radiation and reduce glare for young passengers. A dog kit includes a padded mat and safety tether attachment for four-legged passengers. Sidewall options in low and high configurations allow you to customize cargo containment, and a full cargo cover provides weather protection for transported goods. The system is modular, so switching between family mode and cargo mode takes minutes.

Four Drivetrain Options to Match Your Riding Style

The 2026 Load5 75 is available in three drivetrain configurations, each suited to a different type of rider.

Touring

The Touring variant pairs a Shimano CUES 11-speed derailleur with a traditional steel chain. It is the most familiar setup for riders coming from conventional bikes, with straightforward maintenance and a wide gear range for Canadian terrain.

Vario

The Vario uses an Enviolo continuously variable hub gear paired with a Gates Carbon Belt Drive. There are no discrete gears to click through, just smooth, stepless resistance adjustment via a twist grip. The belt drive eliminates chain lubrication and significantly reduces maintenance. This is the configuration Scooteretti recommends most for urban commuters and year-round riders, particularly in Canadian climates where chain maintenance in winter becomes a real consideration.

Rohloff

For riders who want the most durable and long-service drivetrain available, the Rohloff variant features the legendary Rohloff 14-speed hub with electronic shifting and a Gates Carbon Belt Drive. The Rohloff hub is built to last tens of thousands of kilometres with minimal maintenance and performs reliably in all weather conditions. It is the choice for serious commuters and those who plan to put significant distance on their bike over many years.

My go-to sublimation paper for crafting
Size: 8.5"x11"
I've used several sublimation papers, and this one has worked really well for my crafting projects. The colors transfer bright and vibrant, and the images come out crisp with good detail when using the proper sublimation printer and ink. The paper feeds smoothly through my printer and feels like a good quality weight—not too thin and not overly thick. I've used it for tumblers, keychains, and other sublimation projects, and I've been happy with the results. I also appreciate getting 110 sheets in one pack because it lasts a while, especially when working on multiple projects at once. Overall, this is a reliable sublimation paper that gives consistent results and is great for crafters or small business owners.

Escaping the Cartridge Trap: How This Refillable Powerhouse Completely Supercharged My Workflow!
For as long as I have been setting up home offices, the traditional ink cartridge has been my absolute greatest nemesis. There is nothing quite as frustrating as firing up a crucial document only to be met with that dreaded, blinking low-ink warning right when you are on a tight deadline. That is exactly why bringing the white Epson EcoTank ET-2903 Wireless All-in-One Color Supertank Printer into my workspace has been an absolute breath of fresh air. Finished in a clean, minimalist white, this machine completely bypasses the antiquated, expensive cartridge ecosystem. It looks incredibly sleek and modern sitting on my desk, blending seamlessly into my setup without projecting the bulky, industrial vibe of older, traditional machines. Right out of the gate, it feels like a highly engineered, premium piece of technology designed specifically to make daily document management drastically easier and far more efficient. The sheer brilliance of this printer lies in its wildly innovative cartridge-free supertank architecture. Instead of swapping out tiny, expensive plastic squares every few weeks, this machine utilizes massive, front-facing ink reservoirs. Epson incredibly includes up to three years of ink right in the box, which equates to roughly eighty individual standard cartridges. Loading the ink is where the engineering truly shines; the proprietary EcoFit 522 ink bottles are uniquely keyed to their specific color slots, making it physically impossible to mix up the cyan, magenta, yellow, or black. The bottles automatically stop dispensing the exact moment the tank is full, ensuring a completely foolproof, zero-spill experience. Not only does this system save a phenomenal amount of money over the lifespan of the printer, but it also dramatically reduces the massive amount of plastic waste normally destined for landfills. Plus, being able to physically see exactly how much ink I have left at a mere glance provides unmatched peace of mind. When it comes to putting ink on paper, this machine is an absolute powerhouse that consistently delivers remarkably crisp, professional-grade results. It reliably pushes out sharp, highly legible black text documents at a brisk 11 pages per minute, making quick work of dense contracts, shipping labels, and lengthy reports. The color performance is equally stunning, operating at 6 pages per minute to produce vibrant, perfectly saturated graphics and incredibly high-quality photo prints. The color accuracy is truly exceptional, giving life to presentations and flyers with punchy, true-to-life tones that never look washed out. Coupled with a highly convenient 100-sheet rear paper capacity, the entire printing process is incredibly smooth and uninterrupted. I am never bogged down constantly reloading the tray, allowing me to effortlessly maintain my momentum during demanding, high-volume workdays. Beyond its spectacular printing capabilities, the built-in flatbed scanner and copier transform this unit into a comprehensive command center for all of my document needs. The scanner captures physical media with spectacular clarity and high-resolution detail, making the process of digitizing old tax records or preserving physical photographs incredibly easy and accurate. Navigating through all of these robust features is remarkably intuitive, thanks to the dedicated 1.44-inch color display located right on the front panel. The screen is bright, responsive, and paired with a highly logical button layout that allows me to initiate copies, execute scans, or perform quick maintenance tasks without ever having to boot up my laptop or dive into convoluted software menus. The wireless connectivity is the final piece of the puzzle that makes this printer an absolute joy to operate on a daily basis. Equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi 4, it establishes a rock-solid connection to my home network that never drops or wavers. The smart mobile printing functionality is incredibly seamless; I can easily select a photo or document on my smartphone while lounging in the living room and have it instantly printing in the office down the hall. It completely untethers me from the desk, offering a level of modern convenience that I simply refuse to live without. The Epson EcoTank ET-2903 is a phenomenally capable, remarkably efficient, and incredibly fun machine to use. It entirely eliminates the stress and extortionate costs of traditional printing, delivering a flawless user experience that I cannot recommend highly enough for anyone looking to seriously upgrade their productivity game.

Epson is Epic!
This review is for the Epson EcoTank ET-2903 All-in-One Color Supertanker Printer. I am having a difficult time finding enough superlative words to describe how awesome this printer is. Let me begin by saying this printer blows any competition out of the water. I have personally owned several, highly touted, printers in the past four years and either they have underperformed, had complications or had major connectivity issues. They were a source of constant frustration. Then, I was able to procure an Epson EcoTank printer in the office where I work and have loved it. So, when I saw this Epson ET-2903 EcoTank, I did not hesitate to order it. Out of the box, you receive an all in one printer, a very precise set of instructions, and 4 bottles of high quality ink in Black, Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow. The printer is designed to work with the Epson Smart Panel app which guides you effortlessly through the installation and printer initialization process. Epson made this process very easy to set up, even for someone not very tech savvy. With the app, you can use your computer, laptop, tablet or mobile phone to print wirelessly to your printer. The difference with this EcoTank printer versus ink cartridge/toner printers is that each color ink has a separate refillable tank well that uses fluid ink. My office Epson EcoTank ink lasts and lasts and lasts and is very economical. I expect this ET-2903 will ink will last as well. I printed out my initial test page and all is working perfectly. I then printed out a color wheel to test the colors. It printed vibrant, beautiful colors in only seconds with the capability of printing 11 pages per minute. The printer is equipped with a scanning bed to easily scan and print any documents or photos. You can also scan an import any document/picture directly to your mobile phone, tablet or computer. One of the things I have learned about printers with ink tanks is that because they use liquid ink, they work a little differently from standard ink cartridge printers. Each color tank has tubes that run from the tanks to the printhead, providing excellent quality prints each time. However, an issue with this type of printer can be that they can occasionally get clogged if they sit idle for long periods. To prevent this, under the maintenance option on the control panel, I run a nozzle check periodically that takes only seconds to run. If it appears that there is a clog, the maintenance menu has a printhead self-clean option for easy cleaning. I was impressed with how lightweight the printer is and the dimensions are perfect for smaller areas. I measured the printer to be approximately 14.2” Length x 12.5” Deep x 6.4” High and can easily sit atop a desk, printer cart or shelf. Epson got this printer right and I can honestly say if you are looking for an economical, easy to use and reliable printer, you can buy this printer with confidence. With one click on my phone, I said goodbye to clunky disposable ink cartridges that are environmentally unfriendly, and hello to refillable tanks when I placed my order. I am thrilled with this printer and wholeheartedly recommend it.

Well Designed, Prints Clearly and Accurately, Software is a Bit of a Pain To Set Up
I've never used a printer in my entire life that didn't use finicky ink cartridges that are almost more expensive than the printer itself and need to be constantly replaced; this is a breath of fresh air, despite the dangers of spilling ink and making a mess. I found filling this with ink to be really easy, since you only have to pout the ink bottle in the correct port and leave it to fill itself, which takes about 10-15 seconds. the included ink bottles really only give you enough for a complete fill: You fill it, the printer set up charges the printer with ink, and the remaining ink in the bottles can refill about to the "max" line. Still, I really like this method. The top of the printer pops open like the hood of a car, to access the filling ports. It then has to be lowered down in two stages, presumably to prevent dropping the lid on fingers, though it doesn't seem heavy enough to cause major damage to adult fingers, and I have the printer elevated away from little fingers. This thing has the tiniest little LCD screen! It's a bit tricky on the Epson website to determine which software you need specifically. Obviously, my goal is to have a wireless printer for the entire home network. Some of the software seems specifically web-based, so you could theoretically print from work to a home printer, etc., though I balked at setting up or using an email address to send print jobs to. The wireless was annoyingly tricky to set up. I am still not sure if you're supposed to connect a computer and the printer to the wifi separately, or the printer first and then the computer would automatically recognize it, or what. I did successfully connect the printer to the wifi, but couldn't install some of the Epson software - it kept failing - but a quick test did allow me to print wirelessly, so I decided to just call it good and be done. Everything I have printed has been very clear and crisp. It could be a little darker and have more contrast, but that may be how I printed, or printing from pdf. It printed without jamming or sticking, and everything came through quickly and accurately, without leaks or streaks on my paper. I haven't tried the photocopier function though, since I mainly need it for printing and not scanning.

No automatic double sided. Bulky external paper tray
Set up was easy. I didn’t like the exterior paper storage. The whole printer was slick and stealthy until it got to that obnoxious tray. Set up was easy. Printer does not have automatic duplex capabilities you have to manually flip the paper to do double sided. I also didn’t think the printing quality was great.
