This hands-on workshop introduces the art of applying metallic and pigmented foils to paper, bookcloth, and other surfaces using heat and pressure. Learn how to set up a hot stamping machine, experiment with different foils and textures, and create dazzling designs that elevate your book arts practice.
Perfect for book artists, printmakers, and creatives of all levels, this class offers a unique opportunity to explore an age-old technique with modern applications. About the Instructor
Biruta Auna is an artist, bookbinder, and designer. Her work features traditional craftsmanship coupled with artistic innovation. Concerned with the harmony of form, color, and texture, she allows the book to transcend its usual function.
Biruta participates in domestic and international fine bookbinding exhibitions, and has had solo shows in Europe. Her clientele ranges from individuals – photographers, artists, and publishers – to art galleries and corporations.
