Upgrade your aging serial infrastructure with the Lantronix Dual Port Secure Device Server. Designed to bridge legacy devices to modern IP networks, this compact, enterprise-grade solution delivers secure, reliable connectivity for two serial devices simultaneously. The integration is straightforward, the management is centralized, and the security is built in—ensuring your data remains protected as it travels across local networks, remote sites, and cloud platforms. Whether you’re digitizing point-of-sale peripherals, industrial sensors, or medical devices, this dual-port device server offers a robust, scalable backbone that helps you reduce downtime, simplify deployment, and accelerate digital transformation.

At the heart of this device server is AES encryption, a feature that safeguards data in transit between your serial devices and network destinations. Paired with secure management options and flexible networking, it gives administrators peace of mind without sacrificing performance. The international power supply further enhances its appeal for global deployments, eliminating the need for multiple adapters and making it easy to deploy across regional offices, field sites, and overseas locations. With easy-to-use configuration tools, remote monitoring capabilities, and proven reliability, this Lantronix solution is a smart choice for companies that require secure, scalable, and efficient device networking.

  • Dual-port serial server with two independent interfaces lets you connect two serial devices (such as barcode scanners, label printers, or sensors) to a single Ethernet network, simplifying cabling and reducing hardware footprints in control rooms, offices, and manufacturing floors.
  • AES encryption protects data in transit, helping you meet security and compliance requirements while maintaining fast, low-latency performance for real-time applications and critical communications.
  • Flexible networking and management options, including DHCP or static IP assignment, VLAN support, and secure access via HTTPS/SSL, SSH, or SNMP—enabling scalable deployment in centralized or distributed environments.
  • Intuitive management through a web-based interface and CLI, with provisioning templates and centralized configuration to speed up deployment, reduce human error, and simplify ongoing maintenance across many devices.
  • International power supply ensures compatibility with power standards worldwide, decreasing the need for regional adapters and making it easier to roll out across global offices, facilities, or field teams.

how to install Lantronix Dual Port Secure Device Server With AES Encryption, International Power Supply

Installing the Lantronix Dual Port Secure Device Server is designed to be straightforward, even for teams that are migrating from older serial-to-Ethernet solutions. Begin by choosing a secure, accessible mounting location with adequate ventilation and proximity to both the serial devices and network access. Connect each serial device to one of the two RS-232/RS-485 ports, ensuring correct wiring according to the device’s interface. Next, connect the device server to your network via the 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port and apply the international power supply. Power up the unit and allow it to boot.

Access the web-based management interface by entering the device’s IP address into a browser. If DHCP is enabled, the device will obtain an IP automatically; otherwise, configure a static IP, gateway, and DNS as needed. Use the provided credentials to log in (or follow your organization’s secure onboarding process). From the management console, configure the serial port settings (baud rate, data bits, parity, stop bits, and flow control) to match the connected devices. Apply network settings, including IP address, VLAN tagging if required, and security options. Enable AES encryption for data in transit and enforce HTTPS for the management interface to prevent eavesdropping during setup and ongoing administration. Save the configuration and reboot if prompted.

Test the connection by sending test data from each serial device and verifying that it is correctly received on the target IP destination or network application. If you manage multiple devices across locations, consider using provisioning templates to replicate settings across devices, speeding up installations and ensuring consistency. For ongoing maintenance, set up alerting and monitoring through SNMP traps or a centralized network monitoring system, so you’re promptly notified of any connection issues, port status changes, or security events. The overall result is a secure, reliable bridge between serial equipment and modern IT or cloud workflows.

Frequently asked questions

  • Q: What kind of devices can connect to this Lantronix dual-port device server?
  • A: It supports two serial devices (commonly using RS-232 or RS-485 interfaces) and bridges them to an Ethernet network for IP connectivity. Check device manuals for supported serial standards and wiring configurations for your exact model.
  • Q: Does it support encryption for management connections as well?
  • A: Yes. Management connections can be secured using HTTPS/SSL and SSH, ensuring both device data and administrative access are protected.
  • Q: Is the power supply region-specific?
  • A: No. The model includes an international power supply designed to work with multiple regions, simplifying deployments across global sites.
  • Q: Can I manage multiple Lantronix devices from a single console?
  • A: Yes. The device supports centralized management features and can be integrated with standard network management systems via SNMP, enabling scalable oversight of many units.
  • Q: How do I troubleshoot if a serial device isn’t communicating?
  • A: Verify serial settings (baud rate, data bits, parity, stop bits, flow control) match the connected device. Check network connectivity, IP addressing, and firewall rules. Use the management interface to view port status, logs, and error messages, and consult the vendor’s troubleshooting guide for serial-to-network mappings and common error codes.

My favorite toothbrush for my fur babies!
Color: Pink (2-pack)
I think these brushes are the easiest way to brush your fur babies teeth. I can get into their mouths and really see in there and brush each tooth and make sure the tarter is off. They even assist by trying to bite the brush and I use toothpaste for dog and gently brush back and forth first the front teeth then the side teeth then the inside teeth and the top of the teeth then the inside of the bottom and top teeth and I end with the left inside top and bottom teeth. I use vanilla mint toothpaste for dogs because my dogs are allergic to proteins. Their teeth look so white and their vet comments that their teeth look so great and clean. She does want them of course to have their yearly cleaning but she said there is no rush because their teeth are so clean and she sees no dental disease. I make sure that I wash the brushes daily with soap and keep them open after use otherwise mold will grow on them if you shut them in the case they come in. My pups weigh 6 lbs and 7 lbs and are Maltese females. They cooperate fully with me brushing their teeth because I started when they were puppies and now they are one and two years old. These brushes are lightweight and not expensive at all. I usually buy several at a time to make sure I have clean ones on hand just like you would change a human toothbrush monthly. Each pup gets its own toothbrush and I label the case for each with a marker. I like these better than a regular toothbrush because it’s 360 degrees and the pup can chew on it without hurting themselves or the bristles coming off. Highly recommend!

Dog Approved - Highly Preferred Over Standard Toothbrush
Color: Neon (4-pack)
These pet finger tooth brushes work well for me and my dog. He most definitely tolerates these so much more than a standard tooth brush. I believe I am able to reach more of his teeth and that I'm more effective brushing with these than I am with a standard brush. I put one on each of my index fingers. This makes it easier to do each side and the top and bottom without having to twist and turn to reach everything. The size is just right for my index fingers. They are a little tight getting them on and I have found that wetting my finger and the inside of the finger brush makes it a lot easier to put them on. The bristles on the finger brushes are soft, yet they are durable enough to give some good scrub quality and gum massage. These are a good price for what you get. I purchased the four-pack at right about $16.00. I have gotten numerous uses so far out of the two that I have been using. I will definitely purchase these again when it is time.

Probably Best for Medium-Large Size Dogs
Color: Blue (2-pack)
This finger cot–style toothbrush works well and is a simple way to brush your dog’s teeth, especially if they’re not comfortable with a traditional toothbrush. The material is soft yet effective at cleaning, and it gives you good control while brushing. The only drawback is that it’s a little large for my miniature Dachshund’s mouth, making it somewhat difficult to reach all areas comfortably. It would probably be a better fit for medium or larger dogs. Even so, it gets the job done and is a good option for introducing dogs to regular dental care.
