The Sharp MD-ST800 is dedicated to disc playback, and does not have disc recording functionality. 
It supports MDLP.
It features a Dolby Headphone System which Sharp claims delivers an experience similar to listening via speakers (as opposed to headphones/earphones).
Sharp claimed it could deliver 48 hours of LP4 mode playback using the rechargeable gumstick battery it was originally bundled with.
It weighs 75 grams without a battery or disc installed.
