The UK has 13,000 acres of apple and pear orchards, so despite the sector being in decline, orchards still cover a pretty hefty area of land! Our apple logs are produced using timber from an orchard clearance, after a farmer in Hereford decided to pursue other interests and stop growing cider apples.
