Julia Purinton — "La Plage en Hiver". This evocative landscape painting by Julia Purinton is a masterful example of contemporary Impressionism, characterized by its loose, expressive brushwork and a profound sensitivity to atmospheric light. The artist aligns with the tradition of plein air painting, capturing the transient quality of a specific moment in time, yet departs from strict realism through a deliberate simplification of form and a focus on emotional resonance. The composition is structured on an asymmetrical balance, with the dense, vibrant cluster of trees on the right serving as a powerful visual anchor, contrasting with the expansive, softly rendered negative space of the field and sky. This use of negative space is not merely compositional but thematic, emphasizing the vastness of the landscape and the solitude of the subject. The color palette is central to the work's impact, employing a sophisticated harmony of warm, earthy burnt orange and deep green against a cool, pale blue and lavender sky. This contrast is not harsh but subtle, creating a sense of depth and a gentle luminosity that is characteristic of the artist's technique. The application of paint is visible, with thick impasto strokes defining the foliage and softer, blended layers creating the atmospheric effects of the distant hills and sky. This tactile quality of the paint adds a layer of physicality to the scene, grounding the ethereal light. Historically, the work situates itself within the American Impressionist tradition, influenced by artists like Childe Hassam and the plein air movement, but with a distinctly modern sensibility that prioritizes mood and personal expression over topographical accuracy. The piece is compelling not only for its technical mastery but also for its interpretive significance: it is a meditation on the quiet beauty of a specific place, a moment of stillness that invites contemplation and a deep connection to the natural world, rendered with a painterly language that is both timeless and contemporary. For more art by Julia Purinton click here.

Love this book!!!
A pregnancy must have! Every day you get to follow along with what your baby is going through. I was so excited not to have to wait for the week mark to read something new. I loved the pictures and advice and information about what baby and I were experiencing and each time a new symptom came alone I opened this book and it would address that topic on that day. I highly recommend it for first time mom-to-be.

Perfect!
Great book for just what you need if you are a first time mom or dad. Lets you take in all of the overwhelming information that comes with parenthood in easy to bite pieces with pictures and captions. Very appealing to the eye and easy to put down and pick up whenever you have time. Does not go into a lot of detail on most things, just gives an overview and pointer for almost any question or concern a new parent might have. If you need more information because of your situation you can then seek it elsewhere.

Wonderful book
This is the best baby book ever in my opinion. It's very detailed and informative but the way it's set up doesn't make it overwhelming. Also, this book has lots of beautiful, colorful, bright pictures in it. I purchased this book along with Pregnancy Day by Day. I definitely recommend this book!

Perfect Replacement for Loofahs
Scent: White with Green Edge
I really like these myHomeBody Dual-Textured Exfoliating Washcloths. Where other options only have the roughness, this set has a soft side and a rough side. Having the soft side not only increases how far soap goes (these produce a ton of suds!), but also makes the towels easier to grip and use.
The rough side is the perfect roughness for replacing loofahs, and is great for exfoliating and managing things like keratosis pilaris.
I am so happy with these! I am definitely ordering more.

My new washcloth every time I shower at home or the gym
Scent: Gray
I initially used an Axe loofa with the scrub pad on one side and a plastic mesh on the other. However, I also wanted a washcloth to clean crevices such as ears, toes, and *other* parts. This product marries the two parts I want (cloth/scrub). The cloth side is soft for cleaning inside the ears, on eyelids, etc., and the scrub side is perfect for the rest of my skin and makes it smooth and healthy-looking. I use a fresh one every time I shower so there is no bacteria growth, and I use it when showering after gym workouts. Also, there's a loop on them so they can hang from the water handle when you're not using it.
I wash them with my regular laundry without damage to my clothes from the scrub side; just let them dry completely before placing them in the hamper so mold doesn't grow. I've had them for 6 months and they still look new, so it's worth the extra $ for that reason. My only suggestion is that they offer to sell them in packs of 5 or 7 at a lower price per washcloth, so it's cheaper to buy a week's set in one purchase.
