Smith’s Aqua-Sil S is a penetrating water-based silane sealer for use on a variety of mineral based porous substrates.
Smith’s Aqua-Sil S is effective for applications where excellent water repellency is desired to reduce cracking, freeze / thaw damage, chemical degradation, biological growth, efflorescence and dirt pickup without darkening nor enhancing the color of the substrate.
RECOMMENDED SEALER FOR:
- Porous Mineral Based Substrates such as:

- Previously unsealed Concrete (>28 days old)

- Saltillo Tile (Clay)

- All light colored decorative plasters, Concrete look grey series, light colored Microcement for interior fireplaces, feature walls etc

This is the one of only two water based sealers we have tested over the years that does not change the surface appearance of the plaster. Consistently this sealer has performed and seals well against water and general stains, especially for exteriors. Although this sealer is expensive, it will outperform any other sealer we have found on the Canadian market and is used on all our own jobs and has been for many years now.
We recommend this sealer for all light colors and specifically for our concrete effect grey plasters, as it produces the nicest overall appearance. If you are using our lime based plasters or concrete look white in darker shades please purchase our Stain Shield Penetrating Sealer. This Sealer can leave white residue on darker colors due to the high concentration of tint, and will discolor your finish. Using any other penetrating sealers that are lesser quality will only create even more damaging white stains.
Recommended for lower impact commercial areas, fireplaces, feature walls. For all dark colored surfaces and higher water prone areas we recommend using Stain Shield as it produces more oil and water resistance for hood ranges, back splashes, exterior applications etc.

Game-Changer for My Space!

Sturdy and Functional

Arrived damaged

Unfortunately, very cheaply made. It arrived with one of the connecting tubes cracked horizontally. Possibly due to bad welding. It is quite a headache to assemble. It was delivered on time but returned for a refund.

Not a great experience but a fine product

not enough screws were included to make the wall. I was able to locate more screws to finish building-so I didn’t have to return the product- but it was a pain and I got lucky finding the pieces I needed

Useful, simple room divider

All the pieces were accounted for, and some even had extra pieces, maybe just in case they need changing. It was a bit like putting together a piece of IKEA furniture, though I went slower than usual so as not to make any mistakes. It wasn’t too hard to put together myself, and helps give my studio apt a feeling of space and privacy for my bed. I only wish it had a lovely Japanese design on it, but it does amazingly seem to match the wall color.
