  - 5-star ITTF approved rubbers (i.e. CJ8000) with 2.0 mm sponge.

• This table tennis bat is made of a classic ‘all-wood’ 5-ply blade covered by ITTF approved performance rubbers. 

  Being spin and control the main requirements for the 'Shinai', we used a 5-ply blade with a Kiri wood core covered by Ayous wood. This combination not only offers spin and control but also helps you 'feel' the ball. Kiri is a light weight, soft but very tight and torsionally stiff type of wood, whereas the high elasticity of the Ayous African wood generates a nice bounce effect.

  The ‘Shinai’ has, both for the forehand and backhand, CJ8000 topsheets. This is an ITTF (International Table Tennis Federation) approved rubber, which means you can play ITTF tournaments with this bat! We chose the CJ8000 rubber for this bat because it is a fairly soft and half-tacky rubber for a very nice blend of spin and control. Although this is not the fastest rubber, once you learn the technique correctly you will still be able to hit powerful strokes.
