In the 5 years since Charlie Band wrote his life story, he’s lived another whole life. He bought a haunted house and a church in Cleveland, where he shot multiple movies, staged gigantic fan fests and screenings, and got haunted by an actual ghost. He bought sacred land in Italy, where he excavated relics, shot even more movies, and found himself suddenly becoming an oil baron (well, olive oil, to be exact!). He’s created streaming movies with a massive Chinese corporation, helped his son become a writer/director, created horrifying new merchandise, resurrected something called “The BonerMeter,” shot a raunchy sex scene is his own bed in Hollywood, and thrown himself headfirst into a field that terrifies even his fellow horror filmmakers: A.I. And the films are no tamer than the old, including such modern classics as “Prompt” and “Models Vs. Werewolves.”
“Horror Puppet” is the follow-up to Charlie’s acclaimed memoir, “Confessions of a PuppetMaster,” and it finds our hero in a strange new world, which he soon makes even stranger. All because he simply can’t stop. He is the Horror Puppet.
