When mounted on a tripod head, the low profile of this lightweight and durable lens foot provides a lower center of gravity and better balance compared with the one originally supplied with the lens.
This lower-profile foot reduces flex and vibrations to the lens when in use. Also, 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 sockets support tripod heads that do not have a compatible Arca-type clamp. Dual safety stops are included to prevent accidental sliding of the lens if a clamp is left partially open.
