⚠ Size guide
Choose a size where your cat can turn around and stretch out comfortably inside. As a guide: 30–35cm suits kittens; 35–40cm suits most adult cats up to ~4kg; 45–50cm suits most adult cats and larger breeds; 55–60cm suits large cats (Maine Coon, Ragdoll, Norwegian Forest Cat) and small dogs. When in doubt, go one size up — cats rarely object to extra space.
Questions & answers
My cat won't go inside enclosed beds — any tips?
Start with the hood folded back in open cushion mode — let your cat sleep on it as a normal bed and get used to the scent and texture. Once they're comfortable, gradually fold the hood up a little more each day. Most cats that are hesitant about enclosed spaces come round within a week or two of slow introduction. Placing one of your worn items inside helps too.
Which size should I choose?
The 35–40cm suits most adult cats up to around 4kg. The 45–50cm is better for average to larger cats or cats who like to sprawl. The 55–60cm is designed for large breeds (Maine Coon, Ragdoll) and small dogs. The 30–35cm is ideal for kittens or very small adult cats. If you're unsure, go one size larger — a slightly roomier cave is more comfortable than one that's too snug.
Is the long-pile fur safe — will my cat eat it?
The plush is made from non-toxic materials. Some cats do groom or chew fabrics — if your cat is known to ingest fabric or non-food materials (pica behaviour), supervise their use of any plush bed. For most cats, grooming or kneading the fur is normal and harmless.
Will it stay in place on hard floors?
Yes — the base has a non-slip textured surface that grips hard floors well. It's also moisture-proof, so it won't absorb anything from underneath and is easy to wipe clean on the outside of the base.
Can I wash it?
Spot cleaning with a damp cloth is safe. For a full wash, we recommend a gentle cool cycle in a laundry bag to protect the plush — avoid hot washes or tumble drying as heat can damage the pile. Air dry flat to keep the shape.
Is it suitable for dogs?
Yes — the 45–50cm and 55–60cm sizes suit small dogs up to around 10kg. Breeds like Chihuahuas, Pomeranians, Shih Tzus, and Miniature Dachshunds tend to love the enclosed den feeling just as much as cats do.
