Designed for woodworking, this square delivers the precision that woodworkers demand and offers features not found on other squares. This square is stout, yet lightweight and offers superb balance, and is perfect for bench use. For years and generations to come it will be a tool you can trust every time you reach for it.
The manufacturing process begins with a solid piece of extremely stable, cast aluminum tool plate. It is then carefully machined in multiple, high RPM passes on a state-of-the-art CNC machine. The result is a single-piece blade and handle. This manufacturing process ensures it is accurate to within .001" or less along the full length of the tool.
To form the cheeks of the handle, two pieces of precision-machined aluminum are fitted to the handle with two stainless steel dowel pins that ensure bulletproof rigidity and perfect alignment when pressed into their precision-machined holes. This kind of strength and accuracy simply cannot be matched by squares made using separate blade and handle parts or those punched out on a stamping press.
The blades are 1/4" thick with a handle that is a full 3/4". The thick base makes it easy to stand the blade upright to check the square on your table saw blade, jointer fence, band saw blade and other machinery setup operations. It’s also great for hands-free operation when checking casework parts for square. Additionally, the inside edge of the square’s handle features a shoulder to allow it to lay flat on the work so you can accurately mark either edge of the blade.
Other outstanding features: In the inside corner of the square there is a notch milled so you can “zero out” your layout line to the edge of your work. Additionally, it has easy-to-read measurement scales that are laser-etched in 1/16" increments on both sides of the blade.
Woodpeckers takes great pride in the design and manufacturing of its squares and guarantees it to stay square to within .001". No fine print, no disclaimers. If it’s not square, they will make it square or replace it.

This cable is easy to manage (bend, etc) because it has an aluminum core. But for that same reason it is harder to effectively crimp, even with a hydraulic crisper.
