The generous, 17" diameter basin creates places for many birds to preen or bathe at once, and the 1.5" depth of the bath is perfect for a myriad of birds. The bath has a raised section in the center, for differing depths, and a hidden heating element to keep some of the water free of ice during the winter. This thermostatically controlled heater turns on only when the water nears freezing, and turns off when the water temperature rises to save electricity. This keeps much of the water in the basin from freezing, so the birds in your yard have fresh water available. The heating element uses only 120 watts, and its electrical connection remains safely hidden from wildlife.
Place the bath on the included pedestal, and run a properly grounded outdoor extension cord (not included) through it. This powers the heated bath and keeps the electricity camouflaged for a lovely garden accent. The gray, speckled finish is reminiscent of concrete, while the compression molded plastic construction ensures a lasting bath. Remove the extension cord and use this item as a nonheated bath in the summer, for enjoyment year round.
