Details: The Schatten Design LP-15 Insider internal mount pickup is a new and revolutionary design for soundboard pickups. The LP-15 is an ultra slim, ultra light weight surface mount soundboard piezo pickup. Weight of the sensor is less than 2 grams (0.07 oz.). All LP-15's are fully RF shielded. The LP-15 pickups are the smallest, thinnest, lightest, and lowest profile soundboard pickups available. Built using a new patent pending process, they are less than one sixteenth of an inch thick at only 0.049" (1.25mm). The pickup sensor is extremely light in weight (weighing less than 2 grams) and does not inhibit soundboard movement or vibration. The LP-15 is like a super utility pickup - you can use it on just about anything with a soundboard, such as a guitar, mandolin, violin, ukulele, etc. The Schatten LP-15 Insider is designed for internal mounting, and includes a prewired high quality TRSS endpin jack with an integrated strap button. A 1/2" hole is required for mounting the endpin jack, no soldering required. The LP-15 sensor attaches to the soundboard using either the included VHB double-sided adhesive tape for a permanent installation, or using the included high-tack acoustic putty for a non-permanent installation. This pickup has been designed to operate properly and sound terrific without the use of a preamp when plugged into any 'normal' amp (guitar amp, bass amp, etc.). As with any pickup, the sound can be further enhanced with an outboard preamp. If you require the added ability to be able to plug directly into a P.A. or mixer then you may wish to add the Schatten Design Mini Pre belt clippable preamp to your pickup system.
