Peggy Gou has ascended from underground sensation to global icon by sticking to her own unwavering vision, becoming one of the most in-demand electronic musicians and DJs in the world. Having performed to over a million people worldwide in 2023, the self-managed South Korean- born, Berlin-based producer and artist has blazed her own trail as the first Korean DJ to play Berghain, the first female DJ to headline Ushuaïa Ibiza, and the first woman in over 20 years to appear within the Top 10 of DJ Mag’s annual Top 100 list.

Since 2016, she’s forged a singular blend of club music that’s as forward-thinking as it is nostalgic, finding her global breakthrough with 2018’s Once EP, which birthed hits like “It Makes You Forget (Itgehane),” and “Han Jan.” An essential tastemaker, she runs her music and design label Gudu, through which she issued her 2019 critically acclaimed Moment EP, designs her Kirin and Peggy Goods fashionlines, and sold out her own London Pleasure Gardens festival for four consecutive years. 2024 will see her biggest ever headline London show when she performs to 25,000 people in August

She’s collaborated with everyone from house legend Maurice Fulton (2020’s “Jigoo”) to South Korean counterculture hero OHHYUK (2021’s “Nabi”), and was enlisted for a 2022 remix of Kylie Minogue’s iconic “Can’t Get You Out of My Head.” Referred to as “the world’s hippest DJ” by The Guardian, Gou has graced the cover of Vogue Germany, Vanity Fair Italia, GQ Middle East and Korea, Harper’s Bazaar Malaysia, and others, while boasting collaborations with Louis Vuitton, Hyundai, Ray Ban, Samsung, and Authentic Beauty Concept.

Dogs love it, hard to open and close

My dogs love this toy. It keeps them entertained a long time. Great calming toy for when you leave the house. Only issues is it is very hard to open and close. One of mine I had three people try to open and after fighting with it for about an hour I finally got it opened. Got 2, one a blue and pink one for each of my dogs. The blue is easier than the pink but still hard to do. Just not as bad. Can't close the pink all the way because it is so hard to close. The dog that uses it has trouble getting the stuff out of it. But it doesn't stop her from trying for hours to do so. Does get some teeth marks on it as well if they are aggressive chewer. Tried multiple eatable lubricating substances to try to make it easier but so far nothing fully worked. Aloe Vera has worked the best so far, but not great.

Good in theory, but didn’t fully deliver

My dog falls right on the size cutoff between the small and large Pupsicle. I initially ordered the large since he’s a strong chewer, but he had trouble getting everything out, so I ended up trying the small as well. There are definitely some positives. I think the design is better than a Kong. It stays upright, which makes it less messy. I also really like the mold for making the inserts, instead of having to fill the toy itself and freeze it. That said, there are two major design issues that impacted my experience. First, the all-rubber construction creates a lot of friction when screwing the bottom into the base, especially after repeated use. It gradually became harder to open, to the point where I was using coconut or avocado oil to try to loosen the threads. At one point I even needed a wrench and pliers just to get a better grip. Second, while it’s marketed as dishwasher safe (which I was excited about for cleaning), it seems to dry out the rubber and makes the threading issue worse over time. Unfortunately, mine is now permanently stuck shut and no longer usable. Overall, I like the concept, but the durability and usability issues make this a 3-star product for me. I’d recommend it with caution, especially if you plan to wash it frequently.

Best dog toy I have ever bought. I have three dogs, two at the time I bought this toy. It took them over a year to break through the first layer. The flower comes off first so be careful your dog doesn't swallow it. It still has the second layer so it still looks like a cactus. No stuffing to clean up when they tear into it, which makes it far less messy than other toys. One of my dogs is obsessed with fetch so I use it like a ball inside. The oval shape makes it hard to ensure when it bounces that it will bounce straight. It's bounced into walls and other stuff that I wasn't intending it to hit. Not much of a squeak so I can let them play with it for hours and I don't get annoyed with the noise. Great toy that lasts a while.
