▪︎ABOUT
Songket is a fabric that belongs to the brocade family of textiles of the Malay World. It is a luxury product traditionally worn during ceremonial occasions as sarong, shoulder cloths or head ties and tanjak, a headdress.

This piece was hand woven in silk in two pieces and joined across the middle. It has been intricately patterned with metal supplementary weft thread float, inserted during the weaving process.

The contrasting panel is known as tumpal. It is in 'pucuk rebung' (bamboo shoots) motif, symbolising strength, growth, rejuvenation and good luck.
The tumpal is meant to be worn in middle front or back when wrapped as sarong.

Fairly stable. Good value for the price
Size: 16 Inch, Size: 16 Inch
Great set of stands. You have to tighten them pretty snugly to minimize wobble. Given they are metal they’ll have a little bit more give than solid wood. Even so, a tall desk I built with them remains stable and level.

An incredibly thorough medicinal herb book
Format: Hardcover
I am a self taught herbalist for around 7 years. I love this series of books. I'd say it's not for beginners and novices. It's very thorough and gives formularies and uses for many different ailments. It's an excellent investment if you want to really go deep into herbal medicine. These, by far, are in my top 10 books, and this has 5 volumes. They take up half of my favorites. They go into the *hush hush* herbs as well which makes my heart skip a beat. But wait, theres an herb for that, Leonotis Nepetifolia. I think I'll recover, thanks to this book.
