Circa 1880 | France

An exceptional and rare example of 19th-century French architectural furniture, this jardinière (plant trough) is masterfully crafted from solid French walnut. Originally designed for the grand conservatories or winter gardens of the late Victorian era, the piece features a sophisticated serpentine form that is increasingly difficult to source in the contemporary market.

The upper trough is characterized by exposed box-joint construction, a hallmark of high-level artisanal joinery that provides both structural integrity and a rhythmic visual detail. It is supported by a continuous gallery of hand-turned balusters, resting upon a conforming plinth base with a rich, hand-rubbed patina developed over a century of interior use.

While historically intended for botanical displays, the piece’s elegant concave profile makes it a singular solution for the modern interior. It is perfectly scaled to serve as a sofa-back console for contemporary curved or "bean" shaped seating, bridging the gap between historical architectural salvage and high-concept modernism.

Love these!
Size: 9"
We use these quite often. I try to reduce our carbon footprint as much as possible and not only are these the best value we have found for compostable plates, they are also more sturdy than traditional paper plates. I don't think I will ever go back to non compostable plates.

Better than paper plates
Size: 9"
Both convenient and sturdy...great for serving lunch and dinner...the smaller plates are great for dessert or breakfast (toast, muffins, quiche)

These plates are very convenient for busy days and parties, hold up well with regular meals.
Size: 10inch-140, Size: 10inch-140
I grabbed these for the upcoming summer because we have so many events coming up: graduation party, kids sleepovers, family gatherings and honestly even for those lazy evenings when I am just too tired to deal with dishes. I am actually very happy with them because they hold up much better than many disposable plates I've tried before. The plates feel sturdy enough for regular meals and snacks without immediately bending or getting soggy. One thing I appreciate is that they were even reusable for lighter drier snacks like nuts, crackers or cookies. If the food wasn't greasy or wet, we could easily use the plate a second time which actually helped reduce waste during busy gatherings because i noticed people going around and reusing for multiple foods. My son use them to do a quick warm up in the microwave for a slice of pizza but was only for 30 seconds and it seemed fine so i can say they are microwave safe but for shorter cycle. I love the white background with blue trim details. These are really practical plates to keep stocked up at home considering the great bulk value of 140 plates, very convenient, sturdy and a huge help when you want easier cleanup without constantly washing dishes. Lifesaver! Here is how I rate items: 5 Stars = Exceeds expectations, a good find. 4 Stars = Very good quality, worth trying. 3 Stars = Decent and does what is says. 2 Stars = Below expectations with noticeable issues. 1 Star = Very poor quality, would not recommend.
