Description:
Robinia pseudoacacia 'Lace Lady', also known as Twisty Baby™ Locust, is a striking deciduous tree with unique, twisted branches and delicate, fern-like foliage. Its compact size and contorted growth habit make it an excellent choice for small gardens or as a feature plant in larger landscapes. The twisted branches provide year-round interest, even when the tree is bare in winter, adding structural appeal to the garden.

Flowers:
In late spring to early summer, clusters of fragrant, pea-like white flowers appear. These flowers attract pollinators such as bees and add a soft touch of beauty to the otherwise dramatic appearance of the tree.

Foliage:
The bright green, pinnate leaves are composed of multiple small, oval leaflets, giving the tree a fine, delicate texture. As autumn approaches, the leaves turn a soft yellow before falling, extending the seasonal interest. The foliage provides a light, airy canopy that contrasts beautifully with the twisted, gnarled branches.

Fruit:
Following the flowers, long, flat seed pods may develop. These pods are typically not a significant feature and can be removed if desired to maintain a cleaner appearance.

Form and Size:
This small, compact tree typically grows to 2-4 meters in height with a similar spread. The most distinctive feature of 'Lace Lady' is its twisted, contorted branches that create a sculptural effect in the garden. It has a rounded, bushy form and responds well to pruning to maintain a smaller, more ornamental shape.

Growing Conditions:
Robinia pseudoacacia 'Lace Lady' thrives in full sun to part shade and prefers well-drained soil. It is highly adaptable to a range of soil types, including sandy and clay soils, and is drought-tolerant once established. However, it can be sensitive to waterlogged conditions, so good drainage is essential.

Uses:
'Lace Lady' is ideal as a feature tree or specimen plant in small gardens or courtyards where its unique form can be appreciated. It also works well in containers or as part of a mixed border, adding architectural interest to the landscape. The twisted branches make it a perfect choice for winter interest when many other trees are dormant.

Maintenance:
Prune during late winter or early spring to maintain its desired shape and encourage healthy growth. The tree is generally low-maintenance but may require some attention to remove dead wood or to shape its twisting branches. Applying mulch around the base will help retain soil moisture and suppress weeds.

Notes:
The contorted form of 'Lace Lady' is particularly eye-catching in winter when the leaves have fallen, revealing the intricate twists of its branches. It is generally pest- and disease-resistant, though it can be susceptible to locust borer in some regions.

Companion Plants:
Pairs beautifully with plants that have contrasting forms, such as grasses like Miscanthus or perennials like Echinacea and Sedum. Its delicate foliage also works well with bold-leafed plants such as Hosta or Ligularia.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Easy to use and produces vibrant prints
This Hiipoo sublimation ink has been a fantastic upgrade for my EcoTank printer. The autofill bottles fit perfectly into the ink tanks - no syringes, no mess, and no wasted ink. Refilling is quick and hassle-free, which makes the whole process so much easier. The print quality is excellent. Colors come out bright, vivid, and crisp with great saturation and no fading. It transfers beautifully onto mugs, T-shirts, and tumblers, drying fast without smudges. I really appreciate that it works ICC-free, yet still delivers professional results. The ink is certified and feels reliable, and I’ve had zero clogging issues. Overall, this is a high-quality, easy-to-use sublimation ink that’s perfect for both hobby projects and small business use. Definitely recommend for anyone doing heat transfer printing.

Only Sublimation Ink for Me!!
I recently bought my second set of Hippo Sublimation Ink and continue to be thrilled with the results. This ink has proven to be a fantastic choice for my sublimation projects, delivering on all fronts. Hippo Sublimation Ink works exactly as promised. It sublimates effortlessly onto poly blend items, producing bright, vivid transfers every time. The colors are striking and true to the design, which is crucial for quality sublimation work. The results are consistently impressive, making this ink a reliable option for any project. One of the standout features is the great price. Hippo Sublimation Ink offers excellent value for money compared to other brands. Despite its affordability, it performs just as well—if not better—than more expensive options on the market. Using Hippo Ink in my Epson printer has been a breeze. The ink flows smoothly and doesn’t clog the printer, even after not being used for two weeks!!! I’ve had issues with other brands clogging my printer, leading to frustration and wasted time, not to mention all the maintenance puts wear and tear on the printer. With Hippo, there’s been no such problem, making it a hassle-free choice for sublimation printing. Hippo Sublimation Ink has exceeded my expectations in terms of performance, price, and ease of use. It’s the only ink I will use in my printer from now on. If you’re looking for a high-quality sublimation ink that’s both affordable and reliable, Hippo is an excellent choice. It delivers bright, beautiful transfers and maintains smooth operation without any of the typical issues associated with other brands. Highly recommended!

Great for Sublimation!
I’m a bit new to sublimation and was worried about having dull colors, but this ink is doing wonders! The quality is great, I can adjust the amount on the printer and get the exact, rich, vibrant colors I want. (I found some recommended settings for brightness, contrast, etc… and then tweak the cyan, magenta, and yellow to the desired amount.) I definitely recommend getting this ink! It’s so easy to refill the printer (I have an Eco tank 15000). The cost is not bad at all. I’ve only washed some of the items one time and so far the ink has remained unchanged. Seems like a winner to me!
