A beautiful example of A. J. Johnson's 1862 map of Washington D.C. and Georgetown. Offers a fascinating snapshot of the nation's capitol shortly after the outbreak of the American Civil War. Shows the city in considerable detail with color coding according to ward. Notes numerous important buildings including the Capitol, the Smithsonian Institution, the White House (not yet called the White House), the Washington Monument, the National Observatory, the Navel Yard, the Poor House, the City Hall, and others. Shows the grid and ray structure according to L'Enfant's brilliant plan. Georgetown appears as a separate entity in the upper left corner with Georgetown College noted just outside the city border. Also shows proposed landfills and extensions to the east side of the city into the east branch of the Potomac River. The grand dome of the Capitol Building, shown complete in the upper right hand quadrant of this map, was only partially complete when this map was issued. The Washington Monument appears in an earlier unrealized conceptualization in the lower left quadrant. Features the strapwork style border common to Johnson's atlas work from 1860 to 1863. Published by A. J. Johnson and Ward as plate number 34 in the 1862 edition of Johnson's New Illustrated Family Atlas . This is the first edition of Johnson's Atlas to bear the "Johnson and Ward" imprint.

Love this. Bought it for my mom since she doesn’t have a lot of strength in her hands. Perfect. Kind of slow but gets it done haha.

Only worked for 1 month.
Color: Black/Battery
This product was delivered on April 20th and worked great. It made a nice clean cut in the metal with no sharp edges and the top of the can lifted up nicely. Yesterday, May 24th, it stopped cutting and unfortunately, the return window closed on May 20th.

Color: Black/Battery
The most easiest and safe can opener to have people with diabetes or heart issues that take blood thinners that can’t get cut this is perfect

Opens the can weird, but functional
Color: Black/Battery
Ehhh it’s easy to use and gets it open, my only issue is that it doesn’t open a can like a regular can opener where it is cut on top of the can and you can push it in the can to drain if needed. Rather it cuts the outside of the can as it spins around, so it doesn’t fit inside the can. Not very handy when you’re opening a can of tuna and want to drain the tuna juice, so I had to keep my manual one, that I was trying to get rid of by buying this electric one 🙃

Works Great!
Color: Black/Battery
I've only used it a few times since it arrived and it works great. Much better than the hand cranking can opener I've been using. It's a little loud, but that's not enough of a deterrent for me to stop using it. The noise is a temporary annoyance that I'll gladly put up with to have a can opener that actually completely opens a can.
