Reproduction of Shades of Celedon II by Silvia Vassileva

Silvia Vassileva — "Shades of Celedon II" is a significant contribution to the contemporary discourse on textural abstraction, where the artist masterfully navigates the intersection of materiality and perception. Executed in a manner that aligns with the principles of Color Field Painting, Vassileva's work departs from the gestural intensity of Abstract Expressionism, instead favoring a restrained, meditative approach. The composition is structured through an asymmetric balance, with broad, horizontal bands of color creating a sense of horizontal stability, while the vertical elements introduce a subtle tension that prevents the piece from becoming static. This interplay of form and space is further enriched by the artist's deliberate use of negative space, which constitutes a significant portion of the canvas, allowing the viewer's eye to rest and the colors to breathe. The color palette, dominated by the soft, muted tones of Celedon and warm gray, is applied with a textured, almost impasto-like quality, suggesting the physicality of the paint itself. This tactile quality is a hallmark of the artist's technique, where the materiality of the medium is as much a subject as the composition itself. The work is situated within a broader tradition of post-war abstract art that emphasizes process and material, drawing from the legacy of artists like Helen Frankenthaler and Mark Rothko, while simultaneously establishing a distinct, contemporary voice. Its interpretive significance lies in its ability to evoke a profound sense of calm and introspection, challenging the viewer to find beauty in subtlety and quietude. The piece is a testament to the enduring power of abstraction to convey complex emotional and sensory experiences without recourse to figuration.

Our border collie loves this toy! Keeps him entertained and when he throws it down it doesn't break open. Going strong for a couple days so far.

Toy destroyed.
Color: Blue
Dog destroyed it the evening we received it. It was a cool toy, though. Too bad it didn’t last longer.

Best toy every
Color: Orange, Color: Orange
My husky loves it. It's one toy she's not been able to destroy yet. She plays without when she's outside in her lot and will play for an hr at a time. She loves it moves and bounces instead of just tossing it and letting her fetch. The battery life is really good. We charge it about twice a week. It's quiet, so she loves that. It's perfect size for her.

Our German Sheppard loves these
Size: Medium
These cost a bit more than tennis balls, but they are so much nicer and longer lasting. For starters, they stay cleaner than tennis balls because they’re smooth rubber. Dirt won’t build up on them and if anything does stick, like grass or soil, it falls off once the dog slobber dries. They’re also thick, so they don’t fall apart or blow out like a normal tennis ball does in our dog’s jaws after 30 seconds. Our GS chomps on these like crazy and the only damage they’ve suffered is a crack that developed from the edge of the hole, but the crack is growing very slowly and none of these balls have totally failed yet. The balls do whistle when thrown ant high speed and that may help a dog track and locate it, but I’m not sure. Our neighbors hear the whistling too so it’s far from silent. Lastly the orange ball is easy to locate out in our yard, but the dark blue practically disappears.
