A Pentatonic Lyre for Growing Hands and Confident Musical Exploration

The Auris Junior Lyre (model LKP) is a 7-string pentatonic children’s lyre crafted in Sweden from solid maple wood. Slightly larger than early beginner models, it offers a fuller resonance and expanded range while remaining beautifully balanced in young hands.

Tuned in a pentatonic scale from d’ to e’’, this lyre allows children to explore freely without discordant tones. The open interval structure supports intuitive playing, musical sensitivity, and improvisation—making it especially well suited for early grades, home music practice, and classroom or therapeutic settings.

Seven precision-tuned steel strings (d’–e’–g’–a’–b’–d’’–e’’) create clarity across both lower and higher notes. The solid maple body is finished with eco-friendly shellac priming, protecting the wood while enhancing warmth and tonal resonance.

Care and Tuning

The Junior Lyre includes a T-shaped LSN tuning wrench (square hole) for accurate adjustments. Strings may be gently wiped after playing and occasionally conditioned with a small amount of string oil to reduce oxidation, particularly during seasonal humidity shifts.

When restringing becomes necessary, select replacement strings specifically sized for the Auris Junior Lyre (LKP) to maintain correct pitch, string tension, and sound quality.

No more split lips!!
Living in New England means dealing with really dry winters. Consequently, good hand lotion and lip balm makes a tremendous difference. Whereas Chapstick and many other common brands contain alcohols which can perpetuate problems, this Beef Tallow lip balm is the best I’ve found at preventing split lips.

Lip balm
I had low expectations about this lip balm but after using it, my expectations are higher. I like how my lips are not only moisted but softer as well. Trust and believe, a little goes a long way.

Pass
Our family is just getting started on the tallow journey so we’re learning. I have a son that deals with chapped lips continually so I thought I’d give this a shot. We were both horribly disappointed. Upon opening the balm a huge portion was smashed up into the lid. This is defeating the purpose of a lip balm. Also the texture is weird. It is crumbly and not able to spread easily. I hope this is a one off and not a tallow balm norm.

Love this so much
Big, chonky lip balm! I am one of those people who cannot have dry lips, so I am always applying lip balms. I put this one on before bed and again in the morning and have noticed my lips stay moisturized and soft longer and I do not need to apply my usual lip balm nearly as much throughout the day. Disclaimer: this lip balm is literally tallow/fat/oil, so I do not carry it in my pocket or purse as I am pretty sure it may melt.
