The Sony MZ-E501 is the second iteration of the 5xx series of MiniDisc players (500,501,505,510,and 520). It is dedicated to disc playback, and does not have disc recording functionality.
Released in 2001, it features support for MDLP, the Group function, and eight-level bass and treble adjustment.
It weighs 80 grams without a battery or disc installed.
It has a 3.5 mm headphone jack for audio output.
