Victorian 14K Gold Filigree and Old European Cut Diamond Pendant Necklace

A beautiful Victorian piece with delicate filigree work, this 14k gold pendant is reminiscent of bird wings, as its shape cascades upward. Along with the filigree, the piece is adorned with a nice leaflike detail intertwined with little scrolls. At its center is a 5 mm Old European Cut diamond prong set in a buttercup setting. An inverted kite-shape element dangles from the top piece of the necklace, with the same filigree work as above repeated in a new configuration to frame a second Old European Cut diamond, this one measuring 4 mm, also in a buttercup setting. The pendant connects to a delicate 14k gold Italian chain. 

The necklace contains two natural antique Old European Cut diamonds, with a combined TCW of 0.75 of a carat. One of the diamonds measures 5 mm, with a carat weight of 0.5; the other diamond measures 4 mm with a carat weight of 0.25. Both diamonds are bright and lively, G-H in color, and VS2 in clarity. 

The pendant measures 1 3/8” x 1 1/2”. The necklace length is 17”. The piece weighs 4.5 grams. The chain was added as a replacement to the original. It is marked as 14k and Italian. The pendant is unmarked and acid tests as 14k.
