Jane was more or less a sort of informal community project. Starting out with a joke about a cat-girl in my channel's early days. Through various fanarts, different designs would begin to pop up. Eventually she became more of a character rather than just "catgirl" joke. She would eventually become more raccoon like as that fits spy's class/style, least me and a friend thought it fit well enough and it just stuck. Later on that same friend would commission artists to do their own takes on what the most recent fanart looked like at the time. Keeping her design ever changing with each piece created. Eventually, being a 3D animator and all, I wanted to have her as an actual animatable character. So after going through whomever I could find for options, I found Zinnia, who would go on to make the design she dawns now in her 3D model, and that I would consider her "finalized" design. From then on, I would proceed with my own efforts in making her a fully realized character. Learning blender, how to port models from blender to SFM, becoming a better animator in general all in part because Jane being there was a good reason to go the extra mile. As for what inspired the leap into designing her as a plush? Simply put, another friend of mine is really into plushies and really wanted to see her made into one. So I enlisted her help in turning the idea into reality with this opportunity we were given.
