이 EQ 플러그인은 8-band parametric EQ 입니다.
여기에 Eventide 사의 powerful Structural Split engine 이 적용되어 각 밴드별로 Transient stream 와 Tonal stream 을 분리하여 컨트롤 할 수 있게 됩니다. Eventide 에 말에 의하면 이렇게 하면, 음향으로 복잡한 문제를 쉽게 해결 할 수 있으며 새로운 음악적 접근과 가능성을 열수 있다고 합니다.
즉, 사운드의 트랜지언트도 살리고, 음색도 원하는 대로 컨트롤 할 수 있도록 분리해서 EQ 작업이 가능하다는 뜻입니다.
일반 EQ는 이런 구분없이 모든 것을 주파수 스펙트럼 수치 하나가지고 해당 주파수 부분을 cut or boost 를 해버리기 때문에 특정 주파수를 그냥 Cut 해버리면 음색이나 다른 사운드적인 부분은 음악적으로 손해를 보는 것이 일반적인 방법이나 Eventide SplitEQ 는 그런 방식이 아니라 구조적으로 더 음악적인 이득을 얻을 수 있는 EQ 입니다.
SplitEQ 는 사운드의 구조적인 측면을 가지고 Transient stream 와 Tonal stream 을 분리해서 활용하는 것입니다.
단순히 필터 역활로 cut or boost 만 하는 것이 아니라 트랜지언트와 음색을 생각해서 음악적으로 처리를 하는 방식입니다.
Left/Right 와 Mid/Side panning 으로 프로세싱하는 옵션도 제공합니다.
