COURSE OVERVIEW:

Welcome to the Workplace Accident Prevention Strategies course. This program has been designed to equip you with the knowledge, systems thinking and practical approaches required to prevent accidents, minimise risk and support a safe working environment. You will explore the importance of accident prevention, the distinction between accidents and incidents, the meaning of hazard, danger and risk, and the frameworks that help organisations build safe systems of work. This course also examines responsibilities across all workplace roles, risk assessment processes, monitoring requirements and strategies for controlling hazards before they lead to harm.

This course begins by examining the importance of workplace accident prevention, the distinction between accidents and incidents and the difference between hazards, dangers and risks. You will explore the accident prevention strategies that organisations apply, what constitutes a safe workplace and how both safe workplace systems and safe person behaviours contribute to preventing harm. This section also examines the factors to consider during a PPE assessment, the means of preventing accidents through engineering, administrative and behavioural controls, and the features of safe systems of work. You will explore job safety analysis (JSA), permit-to-work systems and safety monitoring systems that provide oversight and structure to high-risk activities.

The next learning area focuses on accident and ill-health rates and their role in shaping organisational safety programs. You will explore the purpose of a risk assessment, what a risk assessment must include to comply with legal requirements and how to record assessments for accountability and transparency. This section also examines generic assessments, how to maintain and review risk assessments over time and what is included in a typical monitoring system that helps ensure ongoing compliance and risk control. You will explore how to control risks and hazards using structured processes and how the hierarchy of control—from elimination through to PPE—guides decision-making in selecting the most effective risk controls.

A further learning area examines roles and responsibilities within the workplace health and safety framework. You will explore the responsibilities of persons conducting a business or undertaking (PCBUs), officer duties relating to due diligence, and the key responsibilities of coordinators, managers, workers, volunteers and contractors. This section also examines the duties of health and safety representatives, the role of health and safety committees and how shared responsibility builds a stronger safety culture.

The final learning area focuses on common injury trends and practical prevention. You will explore the top 10 workplace injuries and how to avoid them through better hazard identification, safer task design, clear communication, correct use of PPE, adherence to procedures, routine equipment checks and proactive reporting of unsafe conditions. This section reinforces that prevention relies on consistent action, informed decision-making and a collective commitment to workplace safety.

By the end of this course you will be able to understand the principles of accident prevention, define hazards and risks accurately, conduct and maintain effective risk assessments, apply safe systems of work, fulfil your safety responsibilities, control hazards using the hierarchy of control and implement practical strategies that reduce injuries and support a safer and more productive workplace.

So will not write down your foot
Size: Medium, Color: (001) Black / Black / Castlerock
I love these socks. They have a little bit of gel on the top of the heel for support in your tennis shoes and so your socks don’t write down. Very good quality.

Comfy and Stay Put
Size: Medium, Color: (002) Black / Black / Halo Gray
These socks are honestly great. They’re super thin and light, so once you have them on, you kind of forget they’re even there. No bulky feeling in your shoes at all. The best part is they actually stay on. I hate no-show socks that slide down after five minutes, and these don’t do that. The little grip on the heel really works, so you’re not constantly adjusting them all day. They’re breathable too, which is nice if your feet run warm. They dry fast and don’t get that gross sweaty feeling. And there’s no annoying seam on the toe, so nothing rubs or feels uncomfortable. Basically, they’re just comfy, stay put, and don’t cause problems — which is all I want from socks.

Love these socks so much, been buying them for about 4 years now!! Not giving them 5 stars anymore because the quality is different and not as good, durable and thick as before.

The best no show socks
The only no show socks I have ever found that do not slide down. These are very comfortable and the extra tab on the back provides comfort by keeping shoes from rubbing the back of your foot. The top of the sock also comes up high enough to cushion the top of your foot all while still remaining hidden while wearing tennis shoes or even with my hey dudes.
