Ronald Tree was a former editor of Forum Magazine who had moved to England in the 1930s and set up residence in the magnificent Ditchley Park Manor. A member of Parliament, Tree was also a friend of Churchill, who visited Ditchley Park often during the Second World War. After the war the Trees packed up the “country house” contents of the manor and moved it to New York, where they lived until the contents were sold at this auction. A wonderful auction of “country manor” furnishings and decorations. Churchill smoked and drank in these chairs...

While involved with Huston and married to FitzGerald, Marietta began an affair with Ronald Tree, who was a grandson of retail magnate Marshall Field and MP for Harborough, Leicestershire.

Tree and Peabody divorced their spouses at the end of World War II and married on July 26, 1947. Marietta moved into Tree's home, Ditchley Park, but found herself bored with English country life. Tree and most of his friends were Conservatives, and Democrat Marietta again found herself politically isolated. Their daughter Penelope was born in 1949.

Short of money, Tree sold Ditchley and agreed to return to New York City with Marietta, her daughter Frances Fitzgerald and their own daughter, future '60s fashion model Penelope Tree, and his butler Collins

Ditchley Park is a country house near Charlbury in Oxfordshire, England. The estate was once the site of a Roman villa. Later it became a royal hunting ground, and then the property of Sir Henry Lee of Ditchley. The 2nd Earl of Lichfield built the present house, designed by James Gibbs, in 1722. In 1933, the house was bought by an MP, Ronald Tree, whose wife Nancy Lancaster redecorated it in partnership with Sibyl Colefax. During the Second World War Winston Churchill used the house as a weekend retreat, due to concerns that his official country house, Chequers and his private country home, Chartwell, were vulnerable to enemy attack. After the war, Tree sold the house and estate to the 7th Earl of Wilton, who then sold it in 1953 to Sir David Wills of the Wills tobacco family. Wills established the Ditchley Foundation for the promotion of international relations and subsequently donated the house to the governing trust.

Ditchley is a Grade I listed building. The park is listed Grade II*.

Brighter than my headlights on bright!
Color: 26Inch Light White
This Nilight 26 inch 540 watt 50,000 lumen Triple Row Driving light is the brightest light I've ever had on my truck. I bought a kit to mount the light to my Grill Guard, just above the bumper. I can see deer just like daytime, at least two blocks before I get to them. I've never seen a light bar as bright. There are no cons if you ignore the fact that it comes without a wiring harness. I definitely recommend this light bar!

Satisfied customer!
Color: 26Inch Light Amber&White w/Wiring Harness, Color: 26Inch Light Amber&White w/Wiring Harness
First, the picture isn't great, but I didn't intend it for the review. I'm really impressed with the quality and brightness of this light for the price! Installation was easy and straightforward. If you can do some basic work with hand tools, you can install this light in about 30 minutes, including wiring. I like the functionality of having the different light modes, although I typically just use the bright white setting. Some people complained about water getting into their light, but I haven't had any problem with water resistance after several months (including rain, snow, off-roading, and spraying it down with high pressure at the car wash. It fit perfect, just make sure you pay attention to the measurements before you order.

Great performance but low grade material.
Color: 26Inch light White +Wiring Harness, Color: 26Inch light White +Wiring Harness
I want to give it 5 stars but I can't because: The light bar is extremely bright and they go a great distance. I am very satisfied with how much it puts out. 5 out of 5 stars for its performance. HOWEVER nilight seems like they're starting to go cheap with their build material. 2 out of 5 stars for that. I have added photos of the older material vs new material for reference. Their old material is 3.3mm thickness compared to their new material at 2.7mm thickness. And that's for the mounting brackets and the light bar housing. It doesn't seem like .6mm would be a big deal but it's noticeably less rigid. Hand tight started bending the metal. Great product for sure but build material is low grade. Not trying to knock them, I love nilight products and will keep using them but it seems like they trying to save money by cutting weight which makes it less rigid. Dings and scratches come easily now. It worries me a little bit if it can take the abuse of vibrations over time from driving around now.

It will light up your life
Color: 26Inch Light White w/Wiring Harness
I only got to use them once before my jeep was totaled. They’re super bright. Great build quality. It survived taking a header down a mountain side and rolling 4 times. When the jeep was recovered, the light bar still worked!!
