Our design is a precise reproduction of the last officially recognized design launched by Jacques of London. As with the originals, this set has been traditionally weighted using metal infused at the base of the chess pieces. The set has been masterfully crafted in Ebony Wood and Antiqued Boxwood with skilled artisanal work done on the knights.

As with the originals, this set has been traditionally weighted using metal infused at the base of the chess pieces. The set has been masterfully crafted in Ebony Wood and Antiqued Boxwood with skilled artisanal work done on the knights.
Dyed Ebony has been used on the black army which been finished in semi- gloss look. If looked closely, buyers will be able to see a beautiful grain pattern in the ebony side of the set.
The boxwood side of the army has also been lacquer finished in Antiqued Stain. This stain beautifully replicates the vintage patina of old chessmen. The overall finish of the set is semi- gloss which gives it a pleasing finish and nice to look and play with.
This design confirms well to the traditional staunton pattern with no sharp edges or delicate carvings. The sturdy design of the pieces make it a joy to hold and play with.
Chess Board: Our Wooden Printed Chess Boards are handsomely handcrafted pieces specifically designed for a keen chess player or an enthusiastic collector. Unlike a traditional solid wood chess board these are made from veneered printed sheets which give appearance of antiqued boxwood and ebony wood. The greatest advantage printed boards have over a traditional wood chess board is their durability. These chess boards are guaranteed for 3 years against any cracks or warping on the chess board.
Chess Box: Our Leatherette coffer box is well suited for storing Chessmen of (3.5 to 4.1 inch king size). The inner side of the box has been felted with a beautiful felt. The cloth is soft and prevents any damage to the chess pieces. Also the trays have been crafted so that they are able to store chessmen of varying heights and base diameters.

The board is lacquer finished in Matt look making it ideal for a chess player for usage over prolonged period of time. A matt-finished chess board is best recommended for tournament or professional play as it is soothing to the eyes.
