Baby Ruby NecklaceInspired by the magnetic beauty of gemstones and the flow of shapes in design, Danielle Welmond developed a unique style of jewelry by using an ancient weaving technique to create curves and lines with thread and gemstones. Fine threads are woven into bezels, bales, and pave settings to embellish beautiful gems into whimsical, sophisticated designs. Using the lost wax process, she translates her designs into find jewelry with precious metals and gems.

Inspired by the magnetic beauty of gemstones and the flow of shapes in design, Danielle Welmond developed a unique style of jewelry by using an ancient weaving technique to create curves and lines with thread and gemstones. Fine threads are woven into bezels, bales, and pave settings to embellish beautiful gems into whimsical, sophisticated designs. Using the lost wax process, she translates her designs into find jewelry with precious metals and gems.

So impassioned by this technique, she designed an endless repertoire of jewelry. The love for the textures and shapes in her own woven designs led her to create a fine jewelry collection combining the art of the weaver and the metalsmith.

Her jewelry is handmade in her studio in Los Angeles and uses 14k gold vermeil for her chains.

Woven jewelry is made with fine threads and not to be worn in water. Dab clean with a damp cloth.

Awesome Boards….BUT the Smell!!!!

I’d love to give these 5 stars, they are heavy, well made, smooth, deep juice grooves, just nice….but the smell! I washed them, then used vinegar on them, set them outside over night, washed them again….its better but still present. I’d love some guidance on this. I’m hoping it goes away in a few days. It’s like a very strong woodsy smell that actually made my whole kitchen smell like these boards! Edit: Ok, here's what I did. Washed, let dry, coated and scrubbed with apple cider vinegar, set them in a high air flow area for 24 hours (I put mine outside on the patio over night), washed and scrubbed again, let dry, scrubbed with lemons and salt, let dry, washed again. Finally, there is still a slight smell if you push them against your nose but that seems to be fading as well. So, great boards if you want to go stubbornly go through the smell removal process. I don't think it's a chemical smell, I think it's processed bamboo that is shrink wrapped in air tight packaging too soon after manufacturing. Anyway, I'll move this to 4 stars....but lots of work involved here!

Don’t worry about the smell!

These are great for the price, though I’ve never had any desire or need to use the smallest one. They smell strongly of BBQ at first, but from what I’ve read that’s a natural result of a heat treatment used to increase it’s durability and dark color (the heat cooks the sugars in the bamboo which creates the scent). Anyways, I’ve had them for awhile now and the scent is long gone.
