What you'll need
Elderberry Syrup Kit
Large Pot
Metal Spoon
Large Bowl
Fine Mesh Strainer
Funnel
Clean Jar with lid
3 Cups Water
1/2- 3/4 Cup Honey
Optional
1/4 Cup Apple Cider Vinegar
Instructions
Add kit contents and water to a large pot
Over medium heat, bring the ingredients to a gentle boil
Immediately reduce heat to low and let simmer for 20-25 minutes, until the liquid is reduced by half
Carefully pour liquid through strainer into a bowl, then press on the strainer contents with back of spoon to extract more juice. Discard or compost strainer contents
Add the honey, stir until combined. If you’re using raw honey, let the liquid cool until it is around 100 degrees before mixing in honey)
Optional: Add Apple Cider Vinegar
Funnel Syrup into jar. Refrigerate immediately. Syrup will last several weeks to months.
Suggested Use
Adults: 1 TBSP up to 4 times a day at onset of symptoms, or 2 times daily for maintenance
Children over One: 1 TSP up to 1 times a day at onset of symptoms, or 1 time a day for maintenance.
*Do not give to children under 1 due to the honey * Use Caution when boiling and pouring hot liquid*
