"This is wonderfully fruited and instantly appealing on the nose showing blackberry, blueberry compote, vanilla, thyme and floral aromas, followed by a delightfully smooth palate that displays excellent weight and intensity together with fleshy mouthfeel and silky tannins. At its best: now to 2024" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Oct 2019

"The practice of adding the white grape, Viognier, to Shiraz started in the Northern Rhone region of France, where it was found to add a floral note to the wine and make the mouthfeel more rounded and soft. This wine shows how well the idea worked and why it was adopted in Australia. Viognier has been added to the Shiraz flavour, creating a dark rich black and blueberry intensity with underlying floral and oak characters. This is our Champion Shiraz and it’s easy to see why" NWWA 2019

Bright crimson in colour, with luscious and exotic aromas of Turkish delight, red cherries, boysenberry and hints of white pepper and violets. A full bodied palate that is framed by flavours of sweet Turkish delight, cherries and boysenberry. Pleasing velvety tannins provide a perfect complement to the cherry ripe finish which shows the synergy between the Shiraz and Viognier.

The grapes selected for this wine display perfumed and aromatic characteristics of Shiraz that complement the fragrance of Viognier. Everything is done to preserve this aroma: cool fermentation, the addition of Viognier (including as many whole berries as possible) and no oak ageing. These combine to produce a wine that is bright, aromatic and exotic.

Yalumba's belief is that one good wine leads to another, which the Y Series was created with that in mind. This series represents a collection of iconic classics and exciting new varietals. Each authentically crafted with fruit from South Australia's most celebrated wine regions.

Food Pairing: Enjoy with beef skewers or Moroccan spiced grilled eggplant covered in sautéed ripe tomatoes, chilli and fresh herbs.

We had another book on New York of these series and wanted to get this book for my daughter who is 9 years old. Along with her I found the language of this book interesting and entertaining. Have already visited couple of places mentioned in it.

a great guide to DC treasures
Format: Flexibound
This is not a guide book in terms of giving you directions and hours of operation, but it would be a wonderful first step in planning a memorable trip to the nation's capitol. Nineteen themed trails are given, seven in and around the Mall, six nearby, two across the Potomac and two farther afield. Themes include animals (Rock Creek Park, National Zoo, the George Washington University hippo (statue), the National Museum of Natural History, Owney the stuffed dog at the National Postal Museum, Oxon Hill Farm, Kingman Island and the Franciscan Monastery and National Cathedral -- and a blurb about presidential pets), statuary, music, food, horticulture, power, sports, ghosts, architecture, literature, transportation etc. As you can tell these aren't walking tours. Instead each theme gets four pages filled with photos, drawings, fun facts and information about festivals, artifacts, history and spectacle. I try to get to WDC once or twice a year, yet I still found plenty of interesting ideas for further exploration. If you are planning a visit (with or without kids),this would be agreat way to help them choose a few things they'd like to see. Information is presented in a friendly way but is not dumbed down. There is an adequate, if incomplete, index. It would be useful to have a calendar of all the events listed too.
