Rugged Leather vs Modern Leather (Horween)?
Modern Leather is the slimmer daily option (10 ft drop). Rugged Leather is the heavier-duty version (15 ft drop) with a thicker TPU bumper and reinforced corners. Pick Modern Leather for slim daily use; Rugged Leather if you regularly drop your phone or work in tough environments.
How does the leather hold up to rough use?
Horween is exceptionally durable — the same leather used in NFL footballs and luxury watch straps. Rough use accelerates the patina rather than damaging the leather. The protective frame underneath handles the impact while the leather develops character.
Is it bulky?
It's substantial without being unwieldy. The 3.3 mm TPU bumper and reinforced corners add real thickness compared to the Modern series, but the leather wrap and refined edges keep it from feeling bulky in pocket or hand.
How strong is the MagSafe hold?
Excellent — 1100 gf pull. The Pro Max is heavy, and the magnet array supports it cleanly with mounts and chargers, including stronger upgrades like vehicle vent mounts and bedside chargers.
Does the leather develop patina even on the rugged case?
Yes — the leather is full-grain Horween, not coated. It develops the same character patina as the slim Modern Leather case, just over a more rugged frame. Marks buff into a rich, lustrous finish over weeks.

Just right grill cover

We just got a new grill that was quite wide. It can use propane on one side and charcoal on the other. While looking at covers I noticed many were priced well over $50. This one was not and I decided to try it. It’s a fantastic cover for our grill. It’s hem is sewen solid and the material is thick, and water proof. The size is perfect for my grill and I love the Velcro sides to keep water out during our Florida rain storms. I am very happy with my purchase.

Best grill cover I've purchased. One year old, looks brand new! Last one was an expensive Cuisinart one. Two years and it was ripping to shreds from sun damage.
In the pic, the smaller cover is a Cuisinart cover on an electric smoker and you can see it's faded to white on the top and not gonna last much longer!
This grill cover looks and feels brand new! Sits in the sun everyday.

I got 6 years use out of it and just re-ordered a new one! Best grill cover I’ve ever purchased.

Very durable! I noticed earlier this spring that mine was starting to rip after several strong spring wind storms. I knew I had had it for several years but I wasn’t sure how long. I went in my orders page and saw that I ordered it back in 2020 so I got 6 years out of it!! Note that it stays outside on the deck all year round, and that includes during Northeast US winters with frigid temperatures and snow and I only now started to see the tears in it this spring. The tear started at the top of the grill, and actually started falling apart more after I touched it. Refer to the attached photos of mine after 6 years.
I think it’s very durable for sitting outside for 6 years and only now only starting to show wear . You can also see how it didn’t really fade despite getting full afternoon sunlight. The velcro ties at the bottom,are also a plus as far as getting it to stay in place and not blow off. That’s why I definitely just repurchased the same one. Hopefully, I will get at least 6 years out of the new one when it arrives tomorrow.
