It produces an absolute abundance of densely packed, lilac-blue flower tassels that carry a heavy, classic, sweet perfume. It shares the extreme, sky-reaching vigour of its parent species.

To care for 'Prolific', you must provide maximum structural support and full, baking sun. Plant it in a neutral, loamy soil that drains perfectly. Guide the stems anti-clockwise along thick, galvanized wires. The secret to living up to its "prolific" name is strict canopy management: cut back the long, leafy tendrils to five or six leaves in the summer, and trim them back again to just two or three buds in the winter.
