Wharfedale ELYSIAN CR Stand at Vinyl Sound Toronto Canada

The Wharfedale ELYSIAN CR Stand is the dedicated centre-channel speaker stand for the ELYSIAN CR Three-Way Centre Speaker from Wharfedale (Huntingdon, UK), available at Vinyl Sound in Toronto, Canada. Standing at 496mm tall, the ELYSIAN CR Stand supports the ELYSIAN CR at the correct height and angle for clear dialogue projection, stable front-stage imaging, and seamless acoustic integration with the wider ELYSIAN R speaker system. Constructed from high-carbon steel tube with a high-carbon steel top plate and hardened high-carbon steel base spikes, the stand provides the rigid, vibration-isolating platform that a centre speaker of the ELYSIAN CR's 30.2kg weight and flagship acoustic performance requires, finished exclusively in Matte Black to match the refined metalwork and contemporary visual identity of the ELYSIAN R Series.

Construction, Height, and Acoustic Isolation

The ELYSIAN CR Stand's high-carbon steel tube column construction, high-carbon steel top plate, and hardened high-carbon steel base spikes form a mechanically rigid three-point structure that reduces unwanted vibration and resonance transmission between the ELYSIAN CR and the floor, effectively decoupling the centre speaker from floor-borne vibration that would otherwise compromise imaging precision and bass clarity. The 496mm stand height positions the ELYSIAN CR's dedicated 6" midrange driver and 27 x 45mm AMT tweeter at the optimal height for direct on-axis dialogue projection toward listeners seated in typical home theatre seating positions, ensuring the centre channel delivers the natural vocal presence, intelligibility, and tonal integration with the ELYSIAN 3R or 4R front channels that Wharfedale's engineers specify for the ELYSIAN R system. Measuring 618mm wide and 373mm deep, the ELYSIAN CR Stand provides a stable footprint for the 830mm-wide ELYSIAN CR cabinet. The Matte Black finish matches all three ELYSIAN R finish options and the metalwork detailing across the ELYSIAN R Series.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Wharfedale ELYSIAN CR Stand?

The Wharfedale ELYSIAN CR Stand is the dedicated centre-channel speaker stand for the ELYSIAN CR Three-Way Centre Speaker, available at Vinyl Sound Toronto. It is constructed from high-carbon steel tube with a high-carbon steel top plate and hardened high-carbon steel base spikes, standing 496mm tall and measuring 618mm wide and 373mm deep, finished in Matte Black to match the ELYSIAN R Series metalwork.

Why is a dedicated stand important for the ELYSIAN CR?

The ELYSIAN CR weighs 30.2kg and measures 830mm wide, requiring a purpose-engineered stand rated for its weight and width rather than a generic centre speaker stand. The 496mm height positions the ELYSIAN CR's midrange driver and AMT tweeter on-axis for seated listeners in typical home theatre configurations. The high-carbon steel construction reduces vibration transmission between the speaker and floor, which directly improves bass clarity, imaging precision, and the natural vocal presence that is the ELYSIAN CR's primary function in an ELYSIAN R home theatre system.

Does the ELYSIAN CR Stand come in other finishes?

No. The ELYSIAN CR Stand is available exclusively in Matte Black, which is one of the three finish options for the ELYSIAN CR speaker itself alongside Walnut High Gloss and Lunar Grey. The Matte Black stand finish complements the refined metalwork detailing across all ELYSIAN R Series finish options, maintaining visual consistency in the complete ELYSIAN R home theatre installation.

Can the ELYSIAN CR be used without this stand?

The ELYSIAN CR can be placed on a media unit or AV cabinet if the surface provides sufficient weight-bearing capacity and positions the speaker at the correct height for the listening position. However, Wharfedale designs the ELYSIAN CR Stand specifically to achieve the height, stability, and acoustic isolation the ELYSIAN CR requires for optimal performance, and the stand is the recommended platform for any dedicated ELYSIAN R home theatre installation. Vinyl Sound's audio specialists in Richmond Hill, Ontario can advise on placement options for your specific room layout.

Where can I buy the Wharfedale ELYSIAN CR Stand in Toronto or Canada?

The Wharfedale ELYSIAN CR Stand is available at Vinyl Sound in Toronto, Canada, located at 100 West Beaver Creek Road, Unit 3A, Richmond Hill, Ontario. It is sold separately from the ELYSIAN CR speaker and is available alongside the complete Wharfedale ELYSIAN R Series at vinylsound.ca or in-store at our Richmond Hill showroom.

Better than the basic power strip
Color: White, Size: 2.5', Style: 2.5 ft
I needed to get a basic five or six outlet power strip and instead ended up with this . Since the power strip that I was going to get was for basic protection, and would be plugged into a surge suppressor anyway, I really wasn't concerned about how much protection it offered. Just having the extra outlets for additional small-to-medium electrical devices was important. While looking and comparing this with basic power strips, I decided to check the manufacturer's site to see what specs they offered, since the ones here seemed to be a bit inadequate. Here's what I found: * 555 Joule energy rating provides maximum protection of all your sensitive electronic devices * 6 Surge-protected outlets supply 2-line AC protection * 2.5-foot power cord delivers optimal, safe AC power through a 14-gauge heavy-duty cord * Filters EMI/RFI noise up to 43 dB reduction * Maximum Spike Amperage of 36,000 Amps * Lifetime Product Warranty * $15,000 Connected Equipment Warranty The pros on this unit include the price, the basic surge protection, a short but sturdy power cord, and good basic construction. It has a power/reset switch that's recessed at the top of the unit near the power cord to prevent accidental shutting down. On the negative side, like so many of these units, the outlets are too close together to put more than a couple transformer-type devices like cell phone chargers and such. Just a couple of comments on the specifications listed above to those who may be interested: if you're going to plug high-end expensive electronics into one of these, don't do it. This is an adequate but very basic unit, and you want to consider getting a better grade surge suppressor for large screen televisions, good computer systems and such. No surge protector is 100% effective, but sure that the product is listed as a transient voltage surge suppressor, and that it meets the criteria for UL 1449, the absolute minimum performance standard for surge suppressors. I'm no electrical engineer or electronics technician, but if you're going to protect an expensive jogging machine, your new 52-inch television or Apple iMac 27-inch desktop system, you need better than an under $10 surge suppressor or power strip. A friend who I will refer to as the 'cranky electronic tech' told me to look it up on the 'Net, but make sure that whatever I got for protection of "really good stuff" needed to be minimally have a UL1449 3rd Edition certification and be rated at 1400 joules of surge protection or higher, and the rest would fall into place. The that I've used for years with my large electronics is rated at 3330 Joules, and meets those specs. If you plan to use a basic surge suppressor to charge cell phones and the like with their transformer plugs, units with right-angle outlets are a better, though more costly choice. My personal choice for mid-range protection combined with outstanding quality is the , a 5-star product that I own and have reviewed here. I run two notebook computers with this, along with a few chargers. There are others if you look. If all that you're looking for is a basic surge protector with a reasonable amount of surge suppression, then this one from Belkin is a decent choice, and certainly better than the basic power strip. I actually came back recently and bought a second one this year. But if your needs call for more, then the above listed alternates may be worth a look. 4/25/2012

It just works, and that is all that matters

It's a Belkin product. Do you really need to know anything more? My roommate bought a really crappy multi-outlet, it worked for the low wattage stuff, but for the higher wattage stuff the internal breaker kept popping. I bought this one, and it hasn't failed me yet.

i cant comment on its performance as a surge protector but as a power strip its awesome. its redic cheap plenty of plug ins super thin, my other strip is twice as thick the on off switch is hidden which is great to not accidentally hit it, and with having kids around the cord length is perfect for my needs. its plug in behind a chair and a half and comes around the side and has plenty of play to move and plug and unplug the only con i can say about it which is not really a con because it wasnt designed for it. your only going to fit 1 big adapter on the end, or your going to have to give up plug ins to have more than that. but that clearly isnt the design of this strip. its about being thin, compact, hidden, and cheap. you want one that can do everything, your going to have to spend more

Everything You Expect, Nothing You Don't
Color: White, Size: 2.5', Style: 2.5 ft
The power strip got here quickly and works as advertised. I needed another strip because I had an extension cord setup for game systems that was NOT toddler-safe. Now I've got the plugs all tucked away at the back of the cabinet and away from little hands with no protruding prongs. Also, power strips are a good way to save on your electric bill. Things like game systems that really don't need power when you're not using them will draw what's sometimes called "vampire load." It can really add up on your electric bill if you have a lot of things plugged in that aren't in constant use. If you run them through a strip and switch the strip off when you're not using them, you can save a few bucks on electricity. If you're a dad like me, a lower electric bill makes you wanna hang it up on the fridge and tell everyone what a good job you did and how proud they should be of you. There are WAY more fun things to do with a few spare dollars than spend them on running power to appliances you're not even using.
