A major modern turning point came under Patrick Bize in the 1970s, when he modernized the cuverie, expanded the cellar and refined the domaine’s quietly meticulous, low-oak, terroir-driven style. Following Patrick’s passing in 2013, his wife Chisa Bize has carried the torch, deepening the estate’s commitment to thoughtful, often biodynamically influenced viticulture and maintaining its reputation for producing elegant, transparent, age-worthy wines that capture the soul of Savigny-lès-Beaune. 

Nestled high on the hillside of Savigny-lès-Beaune, the “Les Talmettes” parcel of 0.80 ha is planted on clay-limestone soils, facing south and sheltered from northern winds — a terroir of nuance and elegance. This 2022 vintage is drawn from vines planted in 1968 and 1978, and vinified with the estate’s hallmark approach: whole-cluster fermentation, low new‐oak (0-20 %), sustainable viticulture, careful extraction.
