COURSE OVERVIEW:

Welcome to the course on Writing Effective Business Cases. This program is designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge necessary to craft compelling and persuasive business cases. By mastering the art of writing business cases, you can effectively advocate for projects and initiatives that align with your organisation's strategic goals and drive successful outcomes.

We begin with an introduction to business cases, where we define the concept and discuss its purpose. This section covers the importance of business cases in decision-making and outlines the key components that make up a well-structured business case.

Understanding stakeholders is crucial for developing a business case that resonates with decision-makers. This section covers identifying stakeholders, analysing their needs and expectations, and engaging and communicating with them effectively throughout the business case development process.

Defining the problem or opportunity is the foundation of any business case. You will learn how to articulate a clear problem statement, define the scope and boundaries of the project, and set objectives and goals that align with your organisation's strategic priorities.

Conducting market research and analysis provides the necessary context for your business case. This section covers industry trends and insights, competitive analysis, and understanding customer needs and preferences to ensure your business case is well-informed and relevant.

Developing the project plan involves outlining the project scope and deliverables, setting a timeline with milestones, and identifying resource requirements. This section provides practical techniques for creating a comprehensive and realistic project plan.

Financial analysis and projections are critical for demonstrating the value of your proposed project. You will learn how to conduct cost-benefit analysis, calculate return on investment (ROI), and identify financial risks and mitigation strategies to support your business case.

Risk management is essential for anticipating and addressing potential challenges. This section covers identifying potential risks, assessing their impact and likelihood, and developing risk mitigation strategies to enhance the feasibility of your business case.

Exploring alternative solutions ensures that you have considered all potential options. You will learn how to identify and evaluate potential alternatives, weigh their pros and cons, and select the preferred solution that best meets the project objectives.

Implementation strategy focuses on how the proposed project will be executed. This section covers developing an action plan, allocating resources, and considering change management implications to ensure a smooth and effective implementation.

Writing the executive summary is crucial for capturing the attention of decision-makers. You will learn how to highlight key points, ensure clarity and brevity, and tailor the summary to your audience to make a strong first impression.

Detailing the project benefits involves articulating both tangible and intangible benefits. This section covers differentiating between short-term and long-term benefits and aligning them with organisational goals to demonstrate the value of your proposal.

Justifying the investment is key to gaining approval for your business case. You will learn how to craft a compelling value proposition, align the proposal with strategic objectives, and address potential objections to strengthen your case.

Structuring the business case document ensures that your content is organised and easy to follow. This section covers organising sections and content, using templates and frameworks, and ensuring consistency and flow throughout the document.

Reviewing and refining the business case is essential for accuracy and completeness. You will learn techniques for gathering feedback, revising and improving content, and ensuring that all information is accurate and comprehensive.

Presenting the business case effectively is the final step in gaining approval. This section covers preparing for presentations, engaging your audience, and handling questions and feedback to ensure a successful presentation.

By the end of this course, you will be equipped with the knowledge and practical skills needed to write compelling and effective business cases that drive decision-making and support the successful implementation of projects and initiatives within your organisation.

Awesome price for quality balls
Color: Four colors, Size: 5cm (ball only)
These balls are super bouncy and durable. My dog loves them and for the price these are totally worth it! I think they are as durable as nerf balls and equal in size, and much cheaper!

Rope comes out at the slightest force. Pointless tug toy!
Color: Four colors, Size: 6cm (with rope)
If your dog pulls on these (and why wouldn’t he?), the rope immediately comes out. Turns out they just fuse the ends of the nylon rope together, which is no match for a dog playing tug. Any dog, any level of pulling will dismantle these. We’ve managed to reinsert the rope to a couple of these and KNOT it, which gives you a shorter rope but a toy that can withstand some play. But if I had wanted a DIY toy, I’d have used the balls and rope I already own.

Not for super chewers!
Color: Four colors, Size: 5cm (with rope), Color: Four colors, Size: 5cm (with rope)
These rope ball toys arrived today. My poodle puppy loves rope ball toys and playing tug of war. These didn’t last 10 minutes. For context, she is 1 y.o., 30 lbs., is not teething & has her adult teeth. She did this on her own- we were not playing tug of war at the time the toy fell apart. At least there are 3 more in the package & when the rope is done, we’ll still have the balls to play with.

What I've been looking for
Size: Large (Pack of 1)
Just got my Nero Ball. Only used it once, but really like it. I've tried other "ball on a string" type toys, with unsatisfactory results. I'll be using it as a training reward, and my boy, who is a pretty ferocious tugger, is going to learn 2 new things with this ball. 1st, to target the ball instead of the rope, and 2nd, that it's for a little gentle tugging instead of the full throttle stuff he does otherwise. After our 1st session with the Nero Ball, he's picking up on the new rules quickly. We'll see how it does long term, but I think this is one I'll stay with. *UPDATE* Been using my Nero Ball for a month now. I'm tempted to call it the 'Hero Ball' because it's just that terrific!! For me, the key has been putting in the time to allow both myself & my dog to develop the skill to use this tool smoothly. May sound strange, but using a toy as a training reward requires practice, and each different toy configuration requires different handling. It's time well spent - we're both having a lot of fun! Kudos to the designer of this ball. Every detail has been carefully considered, from the length & material of the rope (just the right length that the dog won't step on it; material is easy on the hand while still being tough enough to withstand a few toothy grabs; the loop is the perfect size to grab for a little tug or to pass the ball through to slip-knot it onto a belt loop). The ball is also just right. The knobs make it non-slip, the rubber eliminates tennis ball fuzz concerns, and being semi-hard and hollow makes it slightly compress-able, which makes it a higher value reward than a solid ball that can't be compressed. While this ball will not work for every application or for every dog, if you carefully read & understand the information provided and don't expect it to work outside those parameters, you will be pleasantly surprised by a very well designed, well constructed tool that you can use to enhance your training or play sessions with your dog.
