As part of our innate immune system, natural killer cells don't have to recognize a specific abnormality (antigen) on viral-infected cells or cancer cells before they are called into action to perform one of two functions. NK cells can either be Cytotoxic (Cell Killing) or perform Immunoregulation (Regulate Immune Function).
