Schwalbe Albert Trail Pro Radial Soft MTB Tyre in Black (Fold)

Is it possible to develop flexible tyres with maximum utilization of the contact area that offer even more grip, safety and comfort?

Yes, it is!

RADIAL REVOLUTION: REDEFINING MOUNTAIN BIKE TYRES

The latest development from the Schwalbe LAB: With the innovative radial tire technology two new MTB tires are coming onto the market. The basis for this new technology is the completely rethought carcass construction.

  • More grip: for even more safety
  • More comfort: thanks to more cushioning
  • Larger contact surface: on the ground

THE ADVANTAGES OF RADIAL

  • Carcass threads at a more obtuse angle than other tyres
  • 30% more contact area with the same air pressure
  • More grip, more damping, more safety

WHAT DOES RADIAL MEAN?
The basis for this is the completely rethought construction of the carcass. The carcass threads, which run diagonally across the tire at a 45° angle in conventional bicycle tires, are arranged at a much more obtuse angle in our radial tires. This technology opens up a completely new dimension in the function of bicycle tyres.

The structure of radial tyres
With our radial tyres, we are turning the MTB world on its head. We have always asked ourselves the following question during development: How can we make the best possible use of the limited contact area of a tyre? The basis for this is the completely rethought construction of the carcass. The carcass threads, which run diagonally across the tire at a 45° angle in conventional bicycle tyres, are arranged at a much more obtuse angle in our radial tyres. This technology opens up a completely new dimension in the function of bicycle tyres.

More power, slightly lower (8%) MPG.
Size: (Pack of 1)
Installed on a 2.0 liter Subaru Impreza. I drive up/down the I5 in california 3-4 times a year. For those that don't know there is about a 200 mile flat stretch where everyone runs at 75-85mph. With various filters (FRAM, BOSCH, Subaru OEM), I would consistently get 29.8 mpg. Once I installed the K&N, I could feel the car pulling with a bit more power, but I noticed that I was getting about 27.5 mpg. Totally worth it as the impreza is a little under powered and I don't drive many miles (6k/year) but if you are putting a lot of miles on your car, you may want to have more mpg.

Very good quality comparable to OEM at a much more reasonable price point.
Size: (Pack of 1)
Last December we bought our first new car in 21 years and the first thing I did is stock up on cabin and engine air filters. I've got nothing against dealership OEM parts and pieces but what I do have an issue with is the prices. Luckily, we all have a bit of control over access to OEM quality parts and pieces at significantly more reasonable prices via Amazon. This filter and it's matching cabin filter are excellent in value and take less than 5 minutes to replace. Compare that to paying the hourly rate at your dealer plus the dealership retail price and you'll do what I did and stock up on these two filters. Definitely recommended.
