Package Contents

Your purchase includes the following components:

  • 1× Fuel Pump Assembly
  • 1× O-ring
  • 2× Mounting Clips

Installation Guide

  1. Disconnect the battery and relieve fuel system pressure by removing the fuel line from the engine.
  2. Locate the existing fuel pump on your outboard's cylinder block or mounting bracket.
  3. Remove the fuel inlet and outlet hoses from the old pump, noting their positions. Have a rag ready to catch residual fuel.
  4. Unscrew or unclip the old pump from its mounting position and remove it carefully.
  5. Inspect the mounting surface for corrosion or debris; clean thoroughly before installation.
  6. Install the new O-ring onto the fuel pump body, ensuring it seats properly in the groove.
  7. Position the new fuel pump onto the mounting surface, aligning bolt holes or clip slots.
  8. Secure the pump using the provided clips or original fasteners, tightening to manufacturer's specifications (typically hand-tight plus 1/4 turn).
  9. Reconnect the fuel inlet and outlet hoses in their correct positions, ensuring clamps are secure.
  10. Reconnect the battery and turn the ignition to prime the fuel system (do not start the engine yet).
  11. Check all connections for fuel leaks; tighten any fittings if necessary.
  12. Start the engine and allow it to idle, monitoring for smooth operation and verifying no fuel leaks under running conditions.

Troubleshooting & FAQ

Q: How do I confirm this fuel pump fits my specific Yamaha or Mercury engine?
A: Cross-reference your engine's model and year with the compatibility table above. You can also verify your OEM part number by checking your engine's parts diagram or the number stamped on your existing fuel pump. If your current pump matches any of the OEM numbers listed (62Y-24410 series or 826398 series), this assembly will fit.

Q: What are the signs that my fuel pump needs replacement?
A: Common symptoms include difficulty starting, engine sputtering or stalling at idle or under load, inconsistent RPM, and visible fuel leaks around the pump body. If your engine is starving for fuel despite a full tank and clean fuel filter, the pump diaphragm may be worn or torn.

Q: How often should I replace the fuel pump on my outboard?
A: Fuel pumps typically last 5–10 years depending on usage and fuel quality. Inspect the pump annually for cracks, leaks, or diaphragm wear. Replace immediately if you notice performance issues or visible damage. Always use fresh, ethanol-treated fuel to extend pump life.

Q: Does this aftermarket pump perform the same as the OEM Yamaha/Mercury pump?
A: Yes. This aftermarket fuel pump is manufactured to OEM specifications using comparable-grade materials in an ISO9002-certified facility. Each unit is batch-tested to ensure it delivers the same flow rate and pressure as the original equipment.

Q: Can I install this pump myself, or do I need a mechanic?
A: Installation is straightforward for those with basic mechanical skills and tools. Follow the installation steps carefully, ensure all fuel connections are secure, and check for leaks before running the engine. If you're uncomfortable working with fuel systems, professional installation is recommended.

Q: Is this an OEM part or an aftermarket replacement?
A: This listing is an aftermarket replacement part (not an OEM component). We build to OEM specifications using comparable-grade materials. Production is done in an ISO9002-certified facility, and each batch is inspected for consistent performance.

Q: How fast do you ship and how much does it cost?
A: We offer fast global shipping—typically 5–15 days worldwide—and standard shipping is free. Expedited options are available at checkout depending on your location.

Q: What is your warranty and return policy?
A: This product includes a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects under normal use. If something goes wrong, contact our support team with your order details. Returns are accepted within our standard return window (unused & in original condition); please see our policy page or reach out for instructions.

Works for me
This is plugged into a Macbook Air M2 and it supports a time machine drive, a 4TB solid state drive, a wired keyboard, and a free USB port for plugging various stuff into. In this use case, some other hubs don't work well with the Macbook; it keeps forgetting hub-linked drives are there, dropping them when asleep or not seeing them after a reboot. That has not been a problem with this hub. It's true I lose some of that Thunderbolt speed, but really, 5 GB/s is not that small a hole to put stuff through.

Leave the Laptop at Home - Content Backups
Style: Data Transfer (10Gbps)
I purchased this hub so I could leave the laptop at home and do backups of my GoPro Cameras and Drone footage to an SSD drive. I used FilePro Explorer app on my iPhone to set up tasks to do backups of my content from the SD cards to SSD drive. The one hiccup I encountered is FilePro Explorer (or this hub, not sure which) wouldn't recognize my GoPro cameras as a data source, so I had to remove the SD card from my GoPro Cameras, insert the card into another USB hub that had an SD card adapter (like the one here https://amzn.to/4dlkhMt ) and plug that into the Satechi Hub as another drive source, which it then recognized my SD card from the GoPro camera. So basically two small USB hubs and an App on my iPhone replaced what I would normally do with my laptop. Big weight savings when you're on a bike or motorcycle traveling.

Flaky and Fickle
Style: Data Transfer (10Gbps)
Worked great for a month. Went to plug in a spare ssd to back up files from tablet and it never has worked since. No data or power through any ports. The light turns on and stays solid but is just dead. Waste of my money for now it is outside of return and I am having troubles getting in touch with Satechi.

Love this thing

I’m really impressed with my Satechi power passthrough 4 port USB C Hub. It’s really slick, streamlined, and really good looking too. It works well, doesn’t get hot or even warm to the touch.

Works, but man it is SLOW
TL/DR review follows: This thing does what it claims to do (gives you 4 USB ports that you wouldn't have otherwise), but the data transfer speed of any SSD I connect through this Satechi Hub is half what it is when the SSD is connected via my OWC Hub (data transfer rate is double when connected via the OWC Hub vs. being connected via the Satechi Hub). I'll keep this Satechi gadget (in a drawer) for times when I really, really need more USB C ports and therefore will be more willing to tolerate the data transfer speed slowdown penalty. I cannot possibly consider this to be a primary data transfer pathway however. These above results are from an M1 Mac Mini with 16GB RAM and MacOS Monterey with speed measured by Blackmagic Disk Speed Test utility. I did not get similar results on my 11th Gen Intel Core i9-11900 processor PC running Windows 11. Data transfer rates are the same (SLOW) when any USB drive is connected directly to the PC USB C port or when connected via the Satechi Hub. Highly worth mentioning, though, is that all data transfer speeds on the PC are HALF the speed obtained on the Mac Mini when connected via my OWC Hub. All PC data transfer rates were measured by CrystalDiskMark utility One interesting anomaly worth mentioning is that the PC will not eject USB drives if they are connected directly to the single USB C port on the PC BUT it WILL eject any/all USB drives if they are connected via the Satechi Hub. This particular PC has never been able to eject USB devices correctly. The Mac Mini ejects all these same USB devices correctly no matter how they are connected. All USB drives are formatted Windows NTFS whether connected to the Mac Mini or the Windows PC (for those who care) Conclusion: An interesting experiment, but for me the Satechi Hub is not worth what I paid for it. I can easily see it being a worthwhile investment for many, assuming undemanding use cases, however
