About the work

A fully-illustrated Limited Edition publication to accompany Sarah Lucas' first major solo show in London 'SITUATION Absolute Beach Man Rubble,' on show at the Whitechapel Gallery from 2 October - 15 December 2013. The exhibition will gather over two decades of sculpture, installation and photography to explore Lucas' remarkable career. This new publication will provide an important and timely survey of her work.

This two-volume catalogue will be the first substantial publication to offer an overview of Lucas' work from 1990 to today, and to focus on her approach to exhibition making, installation and her concern with the architectural environment in which her work is placed. The first volume features 28 short scholarly texts, each focused on a single work by the artist, along with installation photographs of the Whitechapel Gallery exhibition. The second volume comprises a foreword by the exhibition's curator, Iwona Blazwick, an illustrated chronology and documentation of the yearlong SITUATION series accompanied by a personal account of the project by the artist.

This special Limited Edition version of the catalogue features a cover showing a gold leaf debossed image of the work Patrick More (2013), taken from her new series of bronze NUDs.

About the artist

One of the leading figures in an outstanding generation of young British artists who emerged during the 1990s, Sarah Lucas has exhibited extensively both in the UK and internationally. Since the late 1980s, Lucas has created sculptures and installations that focus on the body. Drawing upon everyday materials such as cigarettes, tights, furniture and vegetables, she probes representations of gender, sexuality and national identity. In recent years Lucas has combined fragments of the body with organic materials, further addressing universal concerns of nature and mortality.

Greasy, does not blend in well but does not leave white marms
Overall, when researching this product, I saw that it does not leave the white residue on your face like normal sunscreen does, I’m looking for a face moisturizer first with SPF but this one feels more just like an SPF sunscreen. It is pretty greasy shortly and after a few hours of having it on, especially when sweating it makes my face feel really oily, and also it does not blend in very well such as pretty much like I just mentioned you could still feel it on your face a couple hours later but if the no white resident is the most important thing for you, it does not leave that residue. It’s cruelty free and vegan product (no animal products in it or animal testing done) so that’s good but I will most likely not be purchasing this .

So so good!!!
Scent: Face Wash, Size: 5.1 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
This face wash is a game changer! From texture to smell it is perfect. I ordered this for my husband to replace his usual "routine" of washing his face in the shower with bar soap (gasp!). I not-so-sneakily put this in the shower and at his first sample of it he was hooked. It's the only face wash he's tried and actually likes to use on a daily basis. Also, the price point is great! Definitely recommend for anyone seeking an awesome face wash at a perfect price.

Superb
Format: Hardcover
A superb selection of Williams' poetry in a handsome and durable small volume. The editor, Robert Pinsky, selected an appropriate spectrum of Williams' verse across his long career, including all his most famous poems. Reading and rereading these poems is always rewarding because of Williams' ability to capture arresting images, experiences, and states of mind. As with all anthologies, some choices may be arguable. I would like to see all of his great, late poem Asphodel included but Pinsky's choices make sense and reflect his sure knowledge of Williams' work. This book is a great addition to the worthy American Poets Project.

Another excellent volume from the American Poets Project
Format: Hardcover
As stated in another one of my reviews, every single Library of America volume I've ever purchased (including volumes from the American Poets Project) have been of the highest quality, superbly executed and just plain beautiful. Already possessing several volumes of William Carlos Williams work, I purchased this compact, delightful volume as a gift for my oldest son (who shares my appreciation for both great literature generally, and poetry specifically). Upon its arrival (delayed, once again, by amazon's ridiculously slow delivery) I was more than pleased, and felt proud to be presenting my son with such a first rate representation of W.C.W.'s work.
