Waldorf 에서 1989 년에 출시 했던 microwave Synthesizer 를 플러그인으로 만들어 출시합니다.
synth pioneer Wolfgang Palm 이 디자인 했던 아이코닉한 랙마운트형 hybrid wavetable Synthesizer 를 플러그인으로 만들었으며 hardware editor 기능까지 추가하여 실제 하드웨어와의 데이터 호환성도 유지합니다.
이 제품은 하드웨어와 1:1 에뮬레이션 복각으로 원본과 거의 똑같다고 보시면 되며, 몇몇 추가기능이 생깁니다.
이 플러그인은 macOS와 Windows 에서 사용할 수 있습니다.
VST, VST3, AU, 그리고 AAX plugin 포맷으로 사용이 가능합니다.

80년대의 Microwave는 8-part multi-timbral Synthesizer 였습니다. 플러그인도 동일합니다.
오리지널 하드웨어는 전면에 작은 2줄짜리 디스플레이가 밖에 없어서 멀티 섹션을 조작하는 것이 매우 불편하였지만 플러그인 내에서 멀티 악기 섹션 에디팅은 큰 화면에서 멋진 GUI 로 조작할 수 있기 때문에 작업하기에 훨씬 더 편리하고 좋습니다.
