E’scape - a form of temporary distraction from reality or routine. The dream of escape for a few minutes is one of those joys in life that makes the everyday bearable and, hopefully, worthwhile at the end of the day. An enjoyable meal, a good book, a walk in the fresh air or some pleasant company. And definitely a good glass of wine. This Central Otago Pinot Noir embraces the idea of 'escape'. Why the apostrophe? We figure that anything that makes us stop, think and question is also good for the soul. Enjoy!
The Central Otago 2022 growing season was simply fantastic. Warm temperatures throughout the summer, followed by a hot, dry Autumn gave us perfect conditions for the ripening season. Quality fruit and fabulous weather during harvest allowd us to hand harvest early in the season with in peack condition.
Our first vintage was in 2004, so 20 years on, and with a multi-award portfolio of wines, we felt it was time to have a little fun and the result was E'scape! E'scape is produced from a single clone of Pinot Noir in Block 6 which was planted in 2005. E'scape fruit was hand-picked, 100% de-stemmed, gently pressed and put to barrel. This wine has been filtered and is unfined.
