Mobile Fidelity Electronics x Fender American Vintage Turntable at Vinyl Sound Toronto Canada

The MoFi x Fender American Vintage is a limited-edition belt-drive turntable from Mobile Fidelity Electronics (MoFi Electronics, USA), created in collaboration with Fender Musical Instruments (Scottsdale, Arizona, USA), available at Vinyl Sound in Toronto, Canada. This landmark collaboration brings together Fender's California hand-sprayed three-color sunburst finish — the same iconic livery that first appeared on the Stratocaster and Telecaster in the 1950s — with MoFi Electronics' audiophile-grade engineering on a hand-selected real alder-wood plinth. At its core is MoFi's custom 10-inch Ultra Tonearm with Cardas Audio internal wiring, a 6.8-lb Delrin platter on a hardened-steel inverted bearing, and an electronically regulated belt-drive motor mounted on Harmonic Resolution Systems anti-vibration feet. The result is a turntable that functions as both a high-performance vinyl playback instrument and a gallery-worthy objet d'art paying direct homage to rock and roll's visual heritage.

10-Inch Ultra Tonearm with Cardas Audio Wiring

The American Vintage is fitted with MoFi's 10-inch Ultra Tonearm, custom-designed and manufactured in the USA as a straight aluminum gimbaled-bearing assembly using smooth, high-quality ball bearings in both the vertical and horizontal planes. The gimbaled bearing architecture provides rock-solid lateral and vertical stability with minimal friction, allowing the stylus to track groove modulations accurately without the setup sensitivity of a unipivot design. An 18mm overhang and a 22.8-degree offset angle — adjustable plus or minus 2 degrees — optimize stylus geometry across the playing surface for minimum tracking error, and the arm accommodates cartridges weighing between 5g and 10g. Internal signal wiring is supplied by Cardas Audio, whose litz copper conductors carry the low-level cartridge output from the headshell leads through to gold-plated RCA output connectors, preserving signal purity at every point in the chain between stylus and phono stage.

Fender Alder-Wood Plinth, Delrin Platter, and Inverted Bearing

The plinth of the American Vintage is crafted from hand-selected real alder wood — the same species Fender's master builders have used for Stratocaster and Telecaster bodies since the 1950s — chosen not only for its visual character but for its natural tonal resonance properties, which provide a warm, organically damped foundation for the precision bearing and tonearm above. Each plinth receives Fender's California hand-sprayed three-color sunburst finish, the same process used on Fender's American Vintage guitar series, making every unit subtly unique. The 6.8-lb Delrin platter sits on a hardened-steel inverted bearing system combining steel, bronze, and sapphire contact surfaces held to extremely low tolerances for smooth, quiet rotation and long-term stability. Delrin — an acetal resin developed by DuPont — is chosen for its highly crystalline molecular structure, which presents an acoustic impedance closely matched to vinyl, effectively dissipating groove-generated noise into the platter mass rather than allowing it to re-radiate through the stylus. An electronically regulated belt-drive motor mounted on Harmonic Resolution Systems anti-vibration feet isolates the plinth and tonearm from motor-borne and floor-borne vibration, and a hinged smoked amber acrylic dust cover completes the package.

Key Features

  • Fender Three-Color Sunburst Alder-Wood Plinth: A hand-selected real alder-wood plinth finished by Fender's California craftsmen in the iconic three-color sunburst livery first used on the 1950s Stratocaster and Telecaster, chosen for both its visual character and natural acoustic damping properties.
  • 10-Inch MoFi Ultra Tonearm: A custom-designed, USA-manufactured straight aluminum gimbaled-bearing tonearm using high-quality ball bearings in both axes for low-friction, stable cartridge tracking with minimal setup sensitivity.
  • Cardas Audio Internal Wiring: Litz copper conductors from Cardas Audio carry the cartridge signal from headshell leads through to gold-plated RCA output connectors for maximum signal purity and minimum coloration.
  • 6.8-Lb Delrin Platter: A high-mass Delrin platter matched to vinyl's acoustic impedance dissipates groove noise into the platter body, producing a lower noise floor and blacker sonic backgrounds.
  • Hardened-Steel Inverted Bearing: A precision combination of steel, bronze, and sapphire held to extremely low tolerances delivers smooth, quiet platter rotation and long-term mechanical reliability.
  • Electronically Regulated Belt-Drive Motor: A precision electronic motor with push-button speed switching maintains stable 33.3 and 45 RPM playback speeds with low wow and flutter.
  • Harmonic Resolution Systems Anti-Vibration Feet: HRS-engineered isolation feet decouple the plinth and tonearm from floor-borne vibration and acoustic feedback, preventing spurious stylus modulation that masks musical detail.
  • Push-Button Speed Control: Instant electronic switching between 33.3 and 45 RPM at the touch of a button eliminates manual belt repositioning for convenient multi-format playback.
  • Hinged Smoked Amber Acrylic Dust Cover: A period-appropriate smoked amber hinged dust cover protects the platter and tonearm when the turntable is not in use.
  • Gold-Plated RCA Output Connectors: High-quality gold-plated RCA outputs resist oxidation and maintain a clean, low-resistance connection to the phono stage over the long term.
  • Custom Designed and Manufactured in the USA: The tonearm and core turntable assembly are custom-designed and manufactured domestically, reflecting MoFi Electronics' commitment to American craftsmanship.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the MoFi x Fender American Vintage turntable?

The MoFi x Fender American Vintage is a limited-edition belt-drive turntable co-created by Mobile Fidelity Electronics and Fender Musical Instruments, designed and manufactured in the USA. It features a hand-selected real alder-wood plinth with Fender's California hand-sprayed three-color sunburst finish, MoFi's 10-inch Ultra Tonearm with Cardas Audio wiring, a 6.8-lb Delrin platter on a hardened-steel inverted bearing, and Harmonic Resolution Systems anti-vibration feet. It plays 33.3 and 45 RPM records via push-button electronic speed switching and is available at Vinyl Sound in Toronto, Canada.

How does the American Vintage compare to the Pro-Ject Debut Carbon EVO and the Audio-Technica AT-LP7?

The MoFi x Fender American Vintage occupies a substantially higher technical and material tier than both competitors. Against the Pro-Ject Debut Carbon EVO, which uses an 8.6-inch carbon-fiber tonearm, a felt-mat aluminum platter, and a basic DC motor without active speed regulation, the American Vintage counters with a longer 10-inch gimbaled Ultra Tonearm for reduced tracking error, a heavier 6.8-lb Delrin platter for greater rotational stability and lower noise floor, Cardas Audio internal wiring versus the Debut's standard copper, and HRS isolation feet in place of basic rubber feet. Against the Audio-Technica AT-LP7, a fully manual direct-drive design with a J-shaped tonearm and aluminum platter, the American Vintage differs fundamentally in drive topology, using a precision belt-drive system to isolate the motor from the bearing and tonearm, a 10-inch straight arm geometry for lower distortion at the outer and inner groove, and a collaboratively crafted alder-wood plinth that no production Audio-Technica model approaches in material quality or finish.

Does the American Vintage turntable include a cartridge?

The MoFi x Fender American Vintage is sold without a cartridge pre-installed, allowing the buyer to select a cartridge matched to their phono stage and listening preferences. The 10-inch Ultra Tonearm accepts cartridges weighing between 5g and 10g, covering a wide range of moving-magnet and lighter moving-coil designs. MoFi Electronics' own cartridge lineup — including the UltraGold and UltraTracker moving-magnet models — is voiced to complement the American Vintage's tonearm and Delrin platter, and Vinyl Sound in Toronto can advise on compatible cartridge pairings for the system.

What is Delrin and why does MoFi use it for the platter?

Delrin is an acetal resin polymer developed by DuPont, characterized by a highly crystalline molecular structure that gives it a specific acoustic impedance closely matched to vinyl. In a turntable context, this impedance match means that groove-generated vibrations passing from the record into the platter surface are efficiently absorbed and dissipated as heat rather than reflected back through the stylus as noise. The result is a lower noise floor and blacker sonic backgrounds compared to platters made from aluminum or glass, which reflect rather than absorb acoustic energy. The 6.8-lb mass of the American Vintage's Delrin platter adds further rotational stability and resistance to speed perturbations caused by stylus drag during dynamic passages.

What does the Harmonic Resolution Systems isolation do on the American Vintage?

The Harmonic Resolution Systems anti-vibration feet beneath the American Vintage decouple the alder-wood plinth and tonearm from mechanical energy arriving through the supporting surface — including footfall, floor resonance, and acoustic feedback from loudspeakers in the listening room. Any vibration that reaches the platter or tonearm is picked up by the stylus as spurious signal, masking low-level musical detail and raising the noise floor. The HRS feet prevent this energy transfer at the point of contact between turntable and furniture, ensuring the stylus responds only to the groove modulations in the record rather than to the acoustic environment around it.

Where can I buy the MoFi x Fender American Vintage turntable in Toronto or Canada?

The MoFi x Fender American Vintage turntable is available at Vinyl Sound, an authorized Mobile Fidelity Electronics dealer in Toronto, Canada. Vinyl Sound carries the American Vintage alongside the full MoFi Electronics turntable and electronics lineup, and can assist customers in the Toronto area and across Canada with cartridge matching, phono stage pairing, and system setup advice.

What phono stage works best with the American Vintage?

The American Vintage's 10-inch Ultra Tonearm with Cardas Audio wiring outputs a clean, low-noise signal that rewards pairing with a quality phono stage matched to the chosen cartridge. For moving-magnet cartridges, MoFi Electronics' own MasterPhono preamplifier offers voiced compatibility with the American Vintage's signal chain and supports both MM and MC loading. Third-party options from manufacturers including Parasound, Pro-Ject, and Sutherland also pair well depending on cartridge output level and budget. Vinyl Sound in Toronto can recommend phono stage pairings tailored to the complete system being assembled around the American Vintage.

Is the three-color sunburst finish on every American Vintage identical?

No, and that is by design. The three-color sunburst finish on the American Vintage is applied by hand in California using the same spraying process Fender uses on its American Vintage guitar series, meaning each plinth receives a slightly unique application of the burst gradient and interacts differently with the individual grain pattern of the hand-selected alder wood beneath. This means no two American Vintage turntables are visually identical, giving each unit a degree of individuality that mass-finished products cannot offer and reinforcing the instrument-grade craftsmanship philosophy shared by both Fender and MoFi Electronics.

Works great.
Color: Silver, Style: 1-Pack
I have to edit my review: the mouse itself is still working fine, I happened to get a bad batch of Kirkland batteries! I changed out the batteries with a different brand and the mouse is working perfectly!! Didn't last very long, have only had it 3 1/2 months and it has stopped working.

Fantastic keyboard
I did a lot of research before choosing this keyboard, and man am I glad I got it! The split is great, very comfortable. The arch is minimal, but it does the job. I also really like this scissor-switch technology, no more backspacing to fix a key that didn't register the first time! The built-in wrist rest is also really nice. I type a lot for work, and at a rate of 55 WPM. The keyboard gives just the right amount of feedback, and the keys are not mushy at all. It's also a very good looking keyboard, and is very responsive. I have heard some people mention (not just on this keyboard) that they have some lag/delay with their typing. I would bet the farm that they have plugged the receiver into a USB hub. If you're going to do that, then get yourself a USB extension cable, because the hub will cause interference with ANY wireless dongle you plug into it. Just a foot or so of distance from the hub will alleviate that. I found that out with my prior Logitech keyboard, after lots of searching around for what the cause could be. The ONLY thing I would improve is fairly minor: It does not have dedicated keys for Page Up/Down, Home, or End. You need to hold down the function key and use the corresponding arrow key for those functions. Not even remotely a deal breaker, this keyboard is fantastic in every other aspect.

Soft keyboards ( updated)
The keys fell off very easily after only 2.5 months of use. It is a nice and smooth keyboard. I like it, but it didn't last even 3 months. I am trying to get it repaired by them since it was so recent that I got it- I will update this review later once I hear from the manufacturer. This is an update to my original post. I am extremely impressed with the quality of customer service and how fast they addressed my concerns regarding the product and they honestly back up their product. Not only did they respond fast, but they also replace my keyboard. Not just fix it, replaced the whole thing and it is also backed by their manufacturer warranty. I’m so happy and love that I get to have my keyboard back to use for hopefully a lot longer this time. It truly is a comfort keyboard and I love how smooth the keys feel when typing for long periods of time. Thanks guys for the prompt response! Today 3/27/2026 I received my brand new keyboard to replaced the one with the broken keys and I’m so happy to it back again and fully working thanks guys for the great customer service. Truly appreciate it.
