Its forgiving handling, lively sport performance, and ability to operate from almost any surface quickly made it one of the most beloved RC aircraft ever produced. It became widely recognized as an ideal progression from a trainer, an excellent first STOL airplane, and a versatile everyday flyer enjoyed by pilots of all experience levels. The Turbo Timber® 1.5m raised the bar even further by adding metal-geared servos, a more powerful 3S/4S compatible power system, and a distinctive turboprop-inspired nose with a three-blade propeller.
Now, the Turbo Timber® Evolution 1.5m carries that legacy forward with a new generation of enhancements designed to increase durability, convenience, and overall capability—while also introducing a refreshed, modern appearance.
The E-flite® Turbo Timber® Evolution 1.5m represents the most advanced, capable, and user-friendly mid-size Timber to date. It retains all the proven features pilots love, including shock-absorbing landing gear with oversized tundra wheels, optional leading-edge slats and floats, functional slotted flaps, and a complete LED lighting system with landing, navigation, and strobe lights. Performance-boosting upgrades from the Turbo Timber remain as well, such as the turboprop-style nose, three-blade propeller and spinner, a reinforced wing structure, and durable metal-geared servos.
New refinements take convenience and toughness even further. A top-mounted hatch allows for faster and easier battery access, while combined wing connectors simplify installation and removal for transport and storage. Reinforced landing gear mounts and heavier-duty springs—borrowed from the Twin Timber 1.6m—enhance durability and improve STOL performance on rough terrain. The proven power system is now paired with an exclusive Spektrum™ Avian™ 70-amp Smart Lite ESC, and the Bind-N-Fly® Basic version includes a Spektrum™ AR637TA receiver. This advanced setup delivers full-range, real-time telemetry such as battery voltage, current, and motor RPM, along with motor/thrust reversing for specialized ground handling, plus the stability benefits of AS3X® and optional SAFE® Select flight protection. A modern trim scheme completes the lightweight, composite-reinforced airframe.
