Frequently Asked Questions
Can I swim or shower with it?
No — leather should not be submerged. For water/sport use, switch to Nomad's Rugged Band, Sport Band, or Active Band Pro (all FKM rubber). Light sweat from daily activity is fine; pool water and chlorine will damage the leather.
How does Horween age?
Horween leather is vegetable-tanned and minimally treated, so it absorbs hand oils and develops a darker rich colour over time. After 6-12 months of daily wear, the leather develops a beautiful patina — marks buff out, the colour deepens, the texture becomes more supple. Each band ages uniquely.
Why beeswax linen thread?
Fil Au Chinois is a French heritage thread used by premium leather goods makers (handbags, shoes, equestrian gear). The beeswax coating waterproofs the thread, prevents fraying, and gives the visible stitching a beautiful saturated colour. Significantly more durable than synthetic threads.
How does it compare to Apple's Hermes leather bands?
Different aesthetic, similar quality tier. Apple's Hermes uses Barenia leather; Nomad uses Horween Chromexcel. Both develop beautiful patina. Nomad's bands are visibly more rugged-looking; Hermes is more polished/dressy. Pick based on style preference — quality is comparable.
What's the slide-out force rating?
5-20 kgf lateral slide-out resistance — industry-leading for leather bands. Means the band won't accidentally release from the Apple Watch lugs under normal arm movement, gym use, or daily activity. The MIM-tolerance hardware is what enables this.

Wish it was more “cooling”

The pillow is somewhat comfortable, I don’t find it “cooling” it does hold its shape and it gets really fluffy. I am a hot sleeper I was hoping it would help with the cooling but I find it no different than any of the other body pillow’s I have bought

Most comfortable pillow I’ve ever slept on

This is the most comfortable pillow I have ever slept on. It doesn't mash down like other pillows. Cradles my neck perfectly plus it’s cool. I broke my neck a couple of years ago and this pillow feels very good and comfortable. Definitely recommend to everyone. Ive used it since May and it’s retained its shape.

Smell
Size: Queen (2 Count), Color: Original White (Cooling)
The fact that there are not more comments on the smell of these pillows has me worried about some of yall. Listen, I LOVE the weight, and the firmness, it’s perfect for that. However, these pillows are RANK. They have a very strong mildew-ish smell that lingers. I took the outer cover off and washed it and let the pillow air out for a few days, the smell is still very strong when you press your face against it, which one does because it is in fact designed for that purpose. It smells so bad. It’s nauseating. I can smell it through two pillowcases and blanket that I threw on top of them hoping an extra layer would trap the smell. I’ll bake them in the Texas sun tomorrow and hope that helps, because otherwise these are the perfect pillows for someone who wants to feel like they are hugging a torso but can’t stand the sound/feel of someone else breathing. I don’t know…4 stars, if the smell goes away I’ll come back.
Update: many many days later. Either they don’t really smell anymore or I got use to it. They’ve held their firmness and shape well. I like them.
