The height of Mt. Everest was first measured in 1850, but the closest any westerner got to Everest during the next 71 years, until 1921, was 40 miles. The Hunt for Mt. Everest tells the story of the 71-year quest to find the world's highest mountain. It's a tale of high drama, of larger-than-life characters-George Everest, Francis Younghusband, George Mallory, Lord Curzon, Edward Whymper-and a few quiet heroes: Alexander Kellas, the 13th Dalai Lama, Charles Bell. A story that traverses the Alps, the Himalayas, Nepal and Tibet, the British Empire (especially British India and the Raj), the Anglo-Russian rivalry known as The Great Game, the disastrous First Afghan War, and the phenomenal Survey of India - it is far bigger than simply the tallest mountain in the world. Encountering spies, war, political intrigues, and hundreds of mules, camels, bullocks, yaks, and two zebrules, Craig Storti uncovers the fascinating and still largely overlooked saga of all that led up to that moment in late June of 1921 when two English climbers, George Mallory and Guy Bullock, became the first westerners-and almost certainly the first human beings-to set foot on Mt. Everest and thereby claimed the last remaining major prize in the history of exploration. With 2021 bringing the 100th anniversary of that year, most Everest chronicles have dealt with the climbing history of the mountain, with all that happened after 1921. The Hunt for Mt. Everest is the seldom-told story of all that happened before.

Great Read
Format: Kindle
The interview was perfect and the way she ran out thinking the worst is so something I would have done. When Luke goes out to get her and asks her to stay is even better. The way Beckett acts is the complete opposite of Luke and Hunter. They all have different personalities but they each pull something different from her. They way they work as a team to save everything was just part of what shows what a future could look like for them. I would love to read more. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Fast paced spicy read.
Format: Kindle
Luke owns a winery. His best friends Beckett and Hudson are helping him with the business, but he still needs help with his 4 year old son, Charlie. Ali is supposed to be applying to art school, but she is blocked. She hasn’t been able to find her creativity, so she interviews for a nanny position. Instantly, she finds herself attracted to Luke and Beckett, and falls in love with Charlie. Even after a disastrous interview, the guys find something intriguing about her and offer her the position. She has no choice to take the position because a wildfire quickly cuts off her route. Ali falls into a comfortable pattern with the guys. Taking care of Charlie, helping save the winery and growing closer to the guys. It doesn’t take long before she finds herself wrapped up with all the guys any chance they get. And surprisingly, she finds herself painting once again. Along the way, the guys help her realize that she truly belongs with them. The sexy times were hot with a few sexy surprises. The story was well written. It was a quick, spiced read.

Ali and the guys
Format: Kindle
The story of a lost art student that needs direction. Decides to nanny for a winery owner and his best friends/employees. Fires and lockdowns happen and relationships start. Lots of spice sometimes a little too much I found myself skimming over the parts. Happy ending
